Put new bugs at the top of the page.

Please check the page before reporting your bug -- someone else may already have reported it (or something like it). Also check the Won't Fix list for things that are known about and (probably) won't get fixed.

Report Spelling Mistakes on their own page. Maybe someone will have an anal day and fix some of them.

Note that palantiring the admins is generally likely to get less of a response than posting here. We read the RecentChanges of the wiki frequently, and it's quite possible to miss seeing a "you have a palantir message" whilst playing. You should probably only use the palantirs if there's something that really needs to be kept secret.
Note also that carmilla.ecs.soton.ac.uk, and cities.totl.net are one and the same machine. All bugs visible on one will be visible on the other. If you have a problem with one but not the other, try disabling all GreaseMonkey scripts, and check the DNS.

Familiar Eating Bottles

My Familiar feeds on Bottle of Wine / Rum / ect and Tom Collins, but the Bottle and glass is not returned.

I think they smash them after feeding.
Your Familiar drinks the Booze and smashes the container against the ground,
then takes out a bucket of Ice and Hugs it while purring.

Elephants Aren't Aging

Elephant.34239, Elephant.34240, Elephant.35459 and Elephant.35460 died and were resurrected during the Great Rampage. In a cruel twist of fate, all of them seem to have stopped aging since. 34239 and 34240 are stuck at 4 days old, while 35459 and 35460 are stuck at 1 day old. -- Sertularian 16:10, 1 September 2008 (BST)

It seems this is not limited to elephants. My pwny #30206 is stuck at 7 weeks old for the last few weeks. You have no idea how agonizing that is. ScurvyPirate 23:43, 3 September 2008 (BST)

Information Points

The Information Points quest doesn't get tied up quite right. Every time I use a Talisman, I get a bad feeling about the Information Points I repaired earlier, even though the system's been rebooted and is working fine. (At least, I assume it still is. It was when I left it. Those damned kids...) -- Sertularian 15:27, 1 September 2008 (BST)

I couldn't find a line indicating successful completion of this quest on the "Me" page either. -Greycat 17:12, 2 September 2008 (BST)

Can't buy water stones

It appears to be no longer possible to buy Water Stones in Water City. They used to be in Jack's Spells, but that got torn down for a Tube Station, and Quantum Magic still doesn't carry them. - Thog 14:24, 28 August 2008 (BST)

Autofeeding, Take II

When refreshing the page yesterday (26 August) I had a few items devoured by my pets. Specifically, I lost 2 measures of serenity, 7 bones, 25 pounds of poop, and 7 shaky flakes. Please note that this is a separate event from Dead Pets Autofeeding, reported below. It happened exactly the same way, but this time none of my pets were dead when it happened. Is there any way to get these items back (specifically my serenity)? --JAD 23:49, 27 August 2008 (BST)

That's how autofeeding works now. Pets will eat until full. Kaos Dragon 23:53, 27 August 2008 (BST)
Seems relatively useful, although it would have been nice to figure this out before I lost the serenity. At what percentage level will my pets start stealing my stuff so I can avoid this in the future? --JAD 01:54, 28 August 2008 (BST)
I think elseware set it to 25%. It used to be 50%. Syagrius 02:02, 28 August 2008 (BST)

Rename Issue

So I checked my pet horsie ButterCup, who I had finally decided to rename and it wont let me rename it. I checked to see if this was because she is pregnant, but all my other pregnant horsies are renameable. It seems to be localized only on ButterCup #22415.

If this has happened for a known reason I wouldn't mind being told it. I guess I could live with a horsie being named ButterCup forever.

-Stien 18:27, 27 August 2008 (BST)

Did ButterCup die at some point? I've noticed that seems to lock in the pet name -- Thog 18:35, 27 August 2008 (BST)
Unfortunately yes she did die at one point, but she was revived. However the other pets who have died and been revived can also have thier name changed. -Stien 18:52, 27 August 2008 (BST)
Was ButterCup revived by Miracle Pill, and were the other pets revived by the recent "all pets revived at 150%" event? Random4518 20:21, 27 August 2008 (BST)
ButterCup was revived off the miracle pill, and the others should have been the same. I believe. -Stien 20:23, 27 August 2008 (BST)
You're not sure? Could you check to see whether any of the others are evil? I'm pretty sure it's evil pets (and registered goldfish) that can't be renamed. Maybe the bug has something to do with whatever stops goldfish from registering? Random4518 22:40, 27 August 2008 (BST)

The Amazing Disappearing Wheat

So I planted, mucked, and sang over a field, then popped a Time Warp. So far so good - I ended up with 24 sheaves of wheat, which I then took. I then popped a second time warp and picked up the remaining 11 sheaves. One problem - I now have 11 sheaves of wheat. The first 24 are GONE. Any thoughts? -- Thog 18:11, 27 August 2008 (BST)

Holiday Island broken?

Smelly Pete

Not sure why, but I still can't find his mother. I've check the Festival (downlow), the King's pub, The Hobbit in windy city, both the pubs in Fire City, The Gobblet in water city, The crown and the happy camper club in earth city, the limbo bar, the Kobelka between fire and water city, the spy glass inn and the bentnob brewery, the engine room and the unknown star in Brighthelm. I've done this circuit 5 times now, and still haven't found her. Someone help?

Pet Lost To Ninja

I'm not exactly sure if this can be considered a bug or not, but... I've done some stupid things in my time, but in a moment of not thinking, I attacked a Ninja while I had a pet in my hand, and...

You attack the Ninja.
You cause 0 points of damage, and receive 0 experience.
The Ninja disarms you.
You lose a Leeroy Jenkins (Giant Dung Beetle).
The disarm causes 10 points of damage.
The Ninja causes 10 points of damage.
Now using Fists.

So, um... is there any possible way that this can be undone? Or am I just seriously screwed out of a pet that was about a year old? --Prthivi 06:56, 22 August 2008 (BST)

Pet Food Replacement seems a tad inexact

Quoting from the history I saw when I logged in: "OK, I'm going to try and return the food eaten by the zombie pet incident this morning..." (c.f. Pets feeding themselves, Vanishing Foodstuff question and Dead Pets Autofeeding). I applaud the intent, but it seems to have gone wrong, as the items returned are completely different from the ones I lost. I mean, I'm not objecting to suddenly having over 6000 Kudos, but I doubt that was the intent. Ravensdance 19:14, 21 August 2008 (BST)

AP Cost to build a Guild Tube Kit is too high

This looks a bit like a copy-paste error: Guild Tube kits cost a quite moderate amount of equipment (only 500GP, 20 wood, 10 stones; the beeswax is the only hard part to get in bulk), and only 10AP to deploy, but each tube kit costs 200AP to manufacture, much like the other high-level Guild kits (such as the treasury, store, trading post, etc.). I'm guessing this was intended to be in the neighborhood of 20AP, much like the Guild Prop Kit. PotatoEngineer 11:12, 21 August 2008 (BST)

Dead Pets Autofeeding

My Acceptance of Mother just up and ate a Spare, a Strike, 26 Issues, 153 Kudos, and 9 Measures of Serenity. Funny thing is, it's been dead for months if not years. Is there any way I could get some of that back? Nine Measures of Serenity really hurts! The Pet ID for that Acceptance is #14211 if that's any help. -Scrumbucket 09:36, 21 August 2008 (BST)

And now I've just gained three new Mayfly Eggs. (I have three dead Mayflies in my inventory.) I'm betting these are different symptoms of the same dead pet bug. -Scrumbucket 09:43, 21 August 2008 (BST)
ouch, that's bad. At least I didn't have any MoS left... my Acceptance of Mother upped and scoffed down manylots issues and all my kudos. I hope it gets to stay alive after costing me all of that! --naath 10:59, 21 August 2008 (BST)
When checking my palantir this morning, I immediately lost 44 Oils, 50 Magic Emeralds, 126 Magic Opals, 130 Magic Rubies, 2 Measures of Serenity, 1146 Kudos, 17 Spares, 9 Strikes, 16 Issues, 16 Bones, 510 Pounds of Poop, 44 Shaky Flakes. I copied this into a word document for documentation purposes. I was carrying around a dead obsession, electric sheep, goldfish, giant dung beetle, ferret, and troll. The only pet that was resurrected was my Electric Sheep. I would greatly appreciate it if there were a way to get my stuff back. --JAD 14:33, 21 August 2008 (BST)

Parties and Pentacles hide hats

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but now that parties and pentacles hide the people present, hats aren't as easily stealable. I suppose you could compare the players who have hats list to the dropdown in the pentacle trade window and then use the hat steal url manually.

Either way, I've had this hat for a few days, uncontested, on the pentacle.--LimeHan 05:46, 21 August 2008 (BST)

Time to AP countdown at party

The AP countdown in the bottom right doesn't countdown from the halved value if you are at the party. I'm fairly sure used to work.

The reason this is annoying for me is that the time to MaxAP Greasemonkey script now doesn't report anything like the right time while you're at a party. RockHawk 23:44, 20 August 2008 (BST)

I don't recall this ever working....also, PE's GM script does claim to understand parties, so you might want to take it up with him. --Dragon 04:34, 21 August 2008 (BST)

Smelly Martin Quest

Elseware mentioned this was broken. Is it fixed? I've been doing the rounds quite a few times to no avail. Martin's mother just isn't in any of the taverns. Not gaining HP when healing spells are in effect

I cast a Vitality and a Wellbeing, and am not gaining HP when using AP - neither for practising an instrument, feeding or movement. This started within the last 24 hours, it was working OK yesterday. Gimlet 13:34, 18 August 2008 (BST)

Nerf, i'm afraid. Healing spells will now not take you over double your maxap. It's still plenty, but otherwise there's not much incentive to do the maxap quests. Elseware 16:43, 18 August 2008 (BST)

Citiesberg no longer reports prices from the mall

Not sure if this is the correct place to report this, but Citiesberg doesn't have any price information from the mall anymore. I'm guessing it stopped 2-5 days ago or so. The mall.xml file works OK, but you can't find items and prices on Citiesberg.

All whales are dead, and I haven't seen any new ones spawning for a week or so.

Disappearing Engine

I boarded a train at the forest station that seemed to lack an engine. It ran fine, but it had no engine until it pulled into Farm and Castle where the engine Duke appeared suddenly. Kaos Dragon 06:02, 13 August 2008 (BST)

Royal Race

I've just completed the Royal Race but the Twitter says I've just started it again. (No completion message). I took a taxi to the fire city, went to the airport used a ticket to OZ travelled south stopped over night in Northwich, visited Tresoddit. Continued south to the festival and took another Taxi back to the royal Palace walk back and forth over the throne square. Triggering two more start messages. Didbert 00:17, 13 August 2008 (BST)

I do believe you are supposed to travel around the globe via the direction keys. No taxis, no talismans, no airplanes. Did you get the "You abandon this circumnavigation" message? --TheRealKilgore 17:43, 13 August 2008 (BST)
elseware said the above methods were allowed. It may be due to not actually crossing the "checkpoint" lines--i.e. going south, you never hit the first milestone at the 48S beach. This is arguably a bug (at least as far as the Race is concerned), since it wasn't really indicated that was required. --Dragon 17:56, 13 August 2008 (BST)

Ticket Offices don't work right now

So I purchased a ticket for the HAS teleporter, and even when holding it, the pathway to the teleporter is unreachable. I don't think this is specific to the HAS, seeing as mawenpea was running into the same problems with the ticket office in the Order of the Wyrm. -- Thog 23:56, 12 August 2008 (BST)

RNG is Not Random

Walking around the Oz forest, all of the Vorder Men I see are 1612800 Vorder Men. They are also consistently spawning to the south of the square east of me, as I move east. (It's pretty neat, if you want to GL-teleport to 53E 264S and then just start heading east...) Assuming these are newly-spawned, they would seem to indicate a severe problem with the RNG.... --Dragon 06:42, 12 August 2008 (BST)

Present

Today at the start of the festival I stole a present from Santa, I assume this is part of the festival activities? Anyway it said

Present: One of Ruthven's experiments went horribly wrong... and some of it's in this package. It looks horrible... but smells delicious.

So, er, I ate it. I didn't notice anything happen, but maybe I'm unobservant. Anyway obviously doing this left me holding my *other* present, from Christmas, which I was saving up, which now *also* says

Present: One of Ruthven's experiments went horribly wrong... and some of it's in this package. It looks horrible... but smells delicious.

This is, to put it mildly, annoying.--naath 11:36, 9 August 2008 (BST)

To elaborate, current presents give a bonus of 250AP, instead of the goodies that you were previously used to. My advice is not to use the present unless you absolutely need to, as of now ALL presents work this way.

Odd Leaderboard Entries

I originally noticed on the Kipple leaderboard, but this seems to appear on all the boards. Air-aligned player "Post Music Video Entries Here" appears to have "Write Link on Memo and Give to Me" kipple, AP spent, KoT donations, etc. -Scrumbucket 11:08, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Preexisting Presents

Those of us who had preexisting presents no longer have the option to use them (we can get ~250AP from the new ones, instead of a choice of different things--including 1000AP--from the old ones). Should we wait until next Christmas?  :) --Dragon 02:34, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Reforestation Issue?

Found a patch of Forest north of some Theives Forest. 6W 96N, I believe. I have no doubt this was supposed to be Theives Forest, and you can see the work of loggers around here, so I'm inclined to believe that was a reforestation issue. S. Mackie 19:05, 6 August 2008 (BST)

You can board a boat in ocean squares though, just leave the condor then get into your boat.--LimeHan 04:26, 30 July 2008 (BST)
The GC has recently been changed; it no longer overrides the 'roads' with GC terrain, so you can't exit over ocean. You can use the Big Red Button, but that just leaves you in the same situation. Gonzometro 05:18, 30 July 2008 (BST)
Ah, I gotcha. Plainly the Great Lords need to add an entire Z-level to the game to accommodate flying vehicles and the ability to go up and down in addition to the cardinal directions.

Not Very Random Vents

I don't know whether it is a bug of just strange luck, but sometimes I have attacked a bat with a cruel blade or a wand of anger (92% to hit) and missed, not very unusual but being in the vents with max AP kept trying, I attacked a total of 100+ times and never hit the bat, This has happened a couple of times but then I thought it is just extra special terrible luck. Today I happened upon a Gygax, again having little better to do with my AP I set aout killing it, selected my D20s and... everytime the samething happens, I roll a 14 the gygax rolls a 3 claims my die is loaded and smashes it, atleast 7 times (8 for getting a 14). Is it supposed to do this in the vents or is the RNG just of the opinion whatever it first thought it is going to think for the rest of the day...ford_prefect 00:33, 29 July 2008 (BST)

I've had a similar experience in the vents. Good to know I wasn't just incredibly unlucky. Random4518 03:27, 29 July 2008 (BST)
I've have not experience any sort of reduced hit chance while in the vents TheRealKilgore
I wouldn't say it was a reduced top hit, I mean 14 is much better than I normally roll on a D20, more just reduced random number generating...ford_prefect 01:42, 30 July 2008 (BST)
This is happening to me too... every D20 roll against the Gygax I'm fighting is a 4... each D12 roll is a 3, D10-D6 are each doing 2 and my D4 is doing 1 damage. My pets hit/miss exactly the same each turn too. (It'll roll random numbers... just won't attack with them!) Stoo 00:17, 4 August 2008 (BST)
+1 - same thing here. Against a Gygax, always rolling the same number and he always smashes the die. Syagrius 03:28, 4 August 2008 (BST)

I also had an RNG-related problem in the vents. Just tried moving through a newly opened pathway, only to be told one of my safety pins had worn out. Tried again and lost another safety pin. And then another. I took off my remaining 5 safety pins and tried clicking on the open path again. One busted tank. With tears rolling down my cheeks at the loss of my spare tank, I unequipped everything but a t-shirt and my disguise kit and was able to walk through without damage to either. Still.... seems a bit fishy to me.

(Supposititious claim of tear-rolling added for dramatic effect.) Nuru nuru 15:40, 30 July 2008 (JST)

Not Sharpened Flint, just Gone

You attack Omar the Troll.
You cause 4 points of damage, and receive 16 experience.
Your Flint (4 90%) has worn out.
You lose a Flint.
You gain a Sharp Flint.
Omar the Troll misses you.

I had 10 flint, and got that message...I have no sharpened Flint in my inventory. Nor can I make an axe with the recipe book.

Seems to be random. I've had two characters sharpen a flint ok off a troll. And a third lose the sharp flint. The difference between them was that the one that lost the sharp flint killed her troll, and the other two didn't. Rhapsodie 08:44, 26 July 2008 (BST)

The Oz Life Insurance Crisis

I died in Oz a while ago, did the 2 days of work I promised to, but was denied a new policy. The good folks over at L. L. Shrine did offer free counseling, but no insurance. I ended up going through all the shrine offices on the newer world, but none of them would take me on. I realize I have a bit of a poor track record with the whole not dying thing, but really! I did eventually get a new insurance policy at Air City, so at least the old 'kingdom has a functional public health program. Possible cause: Mixology. Tautaun terrain

I just killed a tauntaun on -600S and got something really strange. I can't go south (to 195N) - the path doesn't exist. Further, the paths south on the squares next to me end in nothing. It seems to break the wrapping effect. Phw 01:19, 13 July 2008 (BST)

Working on the Master Armourer quest, I found myself in space one rivet short of what Vulcan requested, and as I had choosed the wrong time to get on the elevator, I had spent about a week getting up to space so I was quite angry with the whole quest. Since I figured that the smithy terrain overrode the space terrain, I tried to enchant a talisman, and was able to do so, allowing me to go into the Neutral Zone, talisman to Earth City to buy a rivet, and finally talisman back to space without bother with the space elevator a second time. Wow, I'm badly hosed. Any AP I spend are rolled back, I lose the effects of whatever I did, and am back at the Great Hall. The really really weird effect is teleporting someplace with a talisman, then snapping back to my starting point as soon as I try to move. I've tried activities that burn a lot of AP to see if I needed to snap out of the cocktail buzz. Has any one run into this before? --Tiltowait 12:41, 20 December 2007 (GMT)
Yes, happened to me as well. I think it happens when you're under the influence of more than one teleporting cocktail. They both try to send you to a random location confusing the database. The only thing that helped me at that time was to find a kind fellow to summon me away. I'm nowhere close to Harvey's Retreat, but if you want I'll summon you to the 'kingdom. BTW, your explanation makes sense. I was slamming cocktails as fast as possible to complete the quest, because I had all the materials at hand. No doubt I am under multiple effects still. That's part of the reason I was attempting to burn so many AP all at once, that all the effects might wear off. --Tiltowait 16:25, 20 December 2007 (GMT)

Something's wrong with mixology

Harvey didn't let me learn the Egg Nogg. I was rather drunk (wankered) at the time already, but don't think that caused it. Every time I tried to learn it, a rollback happened and I needed to learn it again. On top of that, every movement, switching inventory items and so on also caused the rollback. I had to be summoned away. Rockefellow 13:05, 7 October 2007 (BST)

OK, here's my theory about what's wrong. I've been summoned back to the 'kingdom but the rollbacks still happen. I'm under the influence of two cocktails that cause random teleports (Bloinkk!). When attempting to do anything that costs a bit more AP, both cocktails try to Bloinkk me what maybe doesn't happen one after the other, but at the same time instead. No Whale in the Tarot

Aren't Whales supposed to spawn on the death of a Whale? There are currently none in my tarot deck :(

Per Monster_Spawning_Rules, Whenever any player acts, the paths within view of that player are checked. If a path has been empty for its set amount of time, a monster has a chance of spawning on that path (although it doesn't always occur). Thus, monster spawning is caused directly triggered by player actions. So the whale will respawn, but for the tarot deck to find it, someone has to see the square. There is also mention of whale spawning and how it doesn't always work as should. --TheRealKilgore 00:12, 25 November 2007 (GMT)

As do I. However, it's worth noting that at least Spirit works for Wizards (I didn't try Air as a Wiz). It only seems flaky for Knights -- Thog 13:38, 6 February 2008 (GMT)
Spirit works for me, the only alignment that doesn't is Air. Could player alignment have something to do with it? I'm a firey Sgt. Duke. -Scrumbucket 19:05, 6 February 2008 (GMT)
Well, I'm presently Earth-Aligned. I note that Earth and Air are adjacent in the pick-list, as are Spirit and Fire, although not adjacent in the same direction... -- Cthu1hu 02:31, 9 February 2008 (GMT)

Sai AP cost error

The hovering info when using Sais after the Sai training says that it will only cost 1AP, but still takes an AP for every attack.

All Hail The Horn of Blank Screens!

So Durkon's currently sitting at the party. When he tries to blow the Horn of Heimdall, I get a blank screen in response and nothing happens in game. This appears to be happening consistently, and stepping out of sight of the party allows the horn to work correctly -- Thog 16:18, 2 August 2007 (BST)

Probably something to do with the bug that causes people to be unable to say things at a party. I have some ideas that I can play with. Darksatanic 23:13, 4 August 2007 (BST)
Just to make it clear, standing not on the party but with the party visible causes this as well. --BlaisedeC 21:26, 5 August 2007 (BST)
Yes, that would make sense. It's trying to load all the players at the party to send the audible event to them, and it's not managing it. Darksatanic 21:31, 5 August 2007 (BST)

Laughing Ghost

For the Eleventh Trail, attacking a Laughing Ghost with a spirit catcher yields a bound spirit but no Man Key. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if its intended. Gonzometro 22:31, 30 July 2007 (BST)

I don't think using a spirit catcher kills the ghosts. They don't show up on the kill leagues that way at any rate. Stoo 22:37, 30 July 2007 (BST)
Also, it still got an attack when I caught it. Gonzometro 23:08, 30 July 2007 (BST)
That also happens with Hungry Ghosts when you use a Spirit Catcher. I've lost quite a lot of XP that way.... Andrewsi 07:41, 31 July 2007 (BST)

Cacophony of Tune-Ups

Every single party is a noisy orchestral tune-up of practicing musicians, but never once do you hear a solo or a concert or even just somebody rocking out. Apparently, practicing is noisy, but rocking out isn't. Sounds like an error to me, as this is wildly inconsistent with Eugene's and London's musical atmospheres in my experience. S. Guild Initiation is free?

Although the Button said it'll cost 5 AP to initiate somebody, I lost no AP when initiating 3 new members. Flt 15:21, 27 July 2007 (BST)

Update: It costs 5 AP when I click the 'Initiate' button. As soon as the message GUILD: XXX has joined! showes, the 5 AP are back on my counter.
Probably related to the Cities:Bugs#.28Internal.29_--_Player_cache_doesn.27t_work_properly bug above.

Kudos to Nobody?

I accidentally hit the "Kudos!" button without putting in a name. I lost 1 kudo, 1 AP, and received the message:

You send kudos.

(Double space intended.) -Scrumbucket 06:23, 27 July 2007 (BST)

Front 242 Shirts cause 'King Fiddling when they break

As a part of my collection quest, I am breaking every t-shirt I can get my hands on. Bauhaus broke just fine (after copious application of a toy unicorn to 27 gulls). When I wear a Front 242 shirt, however, I get a 'king fiddling error every.... once in a while. As in roughly once every 250 hits to the shirt, which is the (guessed) break frequency. It's happened twice so far in about 500 shirt hits (checked via Big Brother). PotatoEngineer 05:02, 19 July 2007 (BST)

Follow-up: the rest of the shirts break fine. Must have been a copy-paste error for the Front 242 shirt. PotatoEngineer 08:52, 27 September 2007 (BST)

Can't Talk

Every time I try to say anything with two or more other players present, I get back a blank page. When I reconnect and check my history, it appears as if I failed to actually say it. I've tried turning off Greasemonkey, extremely short sentences, singing and shouting, but none of it works. -Scrumbucket 06:57, 15 July 2007 (BST)

I haven't tested as thoroughly as Scrumbucket, but I'll chime in that I can't speak at parties. PotatoEngineer 10:13, 17 July 2007 (BST)
Neither can I. --BlaisedeC/Alan Jordan 16:43, 18 July 2007 (BST)
It's been intermittent for me. Sometimes it'll take me 3-4 tries to be able to say something at a party. More often, I just give up. --Greycat 21:57, 20 July 2007 (BST)

Golden Condor Control Room Map looks extra-funky

First off, the map still actually WORKS. No need to panic.

The problem is that the actual map-part is squished to the left, and there's a black area to the right that's full of coordinates in black-on-black text. (Note: I left after seeing this, so it's remotely possible that the server or connection just dropped half of the page somewhere. The page did stop loading, though.) PotatoEngineer 10:58, 12 July 2007 (BST)

Show Inventory Stevie's Way hides quantities

I have been informed that the original intent of "Show Inventory Stevie's Way" was for the invent page to list items the same way as the drop-down box and bag contents ("item name x quantity"). Instead it just shows item name. --BlaisedeC 17:14, 11 July 2007 (BST)

Snowshoes need attention

Report 1

Snowshoes are increasing my movement cost instead of decreasing it. Wearing nothing my move from the Sauna to Snow is 6. Wearing Magic Boots it's 4. Adding a Pair of Snowshoes brings it back to 6! --BlaisedeC 19:42, 10 July 2007 (BST)

Still not working properly. Phw 23:37, 4 August 2007 (BST)

Report 2

Apparently, you can wear several pairs of snowshoes over your regular shoes

Report 3

I am able to equip multiple pairs of snowshoes and also another piece of footware at the same time. The effects seem be be cumulative, as to the AP to move increases with each pair when trying to travel over non-icy terrain. Fun Assassin 09:39, 21 September 09:39:36 (BST)

Report 4

The snowshoes do decrease snow movement and increase non-snow movement, but they ignore other movement modifiers. They also seem to apply their modifiers in a more or less permanent fashion, overriding other movement items, such that I was able to get a movement penalty to stick around even after removing all worn items, by combining several sets of snowshoes and a pair of winged boots in a specific order. The penalty was very real, not just a display issue. The permanent penalty went away when I selected another movement item from the item menu, however. Incen 21:02, 11 May 2008 (BST)

Report 5

Snowshoes also affect (increase) movement cost while on a boat or sea horsie. Misosumo 19:49, 25 May 2008 (BST)

Time to nerf the toad spell

I've been able to bypass 2 quests already: the sewers and pandora's pitt. Can someone free me from that toad addiction ? --Solune 20:07, 5 July 2007 (BST)

Broken glass in mixed drinks?

When you make a mixed drink, you don't get back any empty bottles that were holding the liquids you used. Are we all going to die of massive internal bleeding, or is it simply that a cocktail shaker uses glass to fuel its fiendish processes? PotatoEngineer 13:48, 5 July 2007 (BST)

Firecrackers and Visibilty

Apparently, you can tell what a firecracker scares off even if you can't see it. I just set off a huge firecracker and saw a Nodule running away. (I'm a Duke.) -Scrumbucket 02:26, 5 July 2007 (BST)

You light the fuse...
BOOOOOOOM!
The sound scares away the Nodule.
You lose a Huge Fire Cracker.
Perhaps you can see it displacing the smoke from the fire cracker? It might be better if the message was "The sound scares away something invisible", since you'd probably be able to hear it running away. - Isambard 02:49, 5 July 2007 (BST)

Disguises are too effective?

<dragon> btw, darkling: I'm not sure if a disguise kit (or spartacus mask, etc.) shields you
if you attack a dibsed monster, but it probably shouldn't....
<darkling> Umm. It probably does. Report it as a bug?

Also when you kick down a sand castle. --Dragon 02:20, 16 June 2007 (BST)

Apostrophes (== single quotes) in character names cause premature termination of a crowd list, as they are not escaped:

Wearing out in the Great Desert

When an item wears out on moving, you remain in the same space that you were in rather than moving and the AP for the move is not deducted from your total. All well and good. However in the Great Desert, you are still liable to take damage from moving across unsafe even though you haven't actually moved. Here's an example:

The Desert Fox lets you pass.
Your Field Glasses has worn out.
You take off a Field Glasses.
You lose a Field Glasses.
You are forced to drink from your water skin. 88% remaining.

Actual physical location and AP value were unchanged. Not a major problem since, of course, one should not allow oneself to get into a position where one is in mortal peril, but presumably this is a bug and therefore worth reporting. :-) -Stelio 01:09, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Steel Bars

There's a known bug in the problem generator for the steel bars in the Level 3 Armourer quest. If you encounter it, don't try solving the problem, it may not have a unique solution. I'll fix it tonight. There's only really three people currently at risk of this anyway... Darksatanic 12:31, 31 May 2007 (BST)

Fixed. The graphics still suck, though. :( Darksatanic 23:08, 31 May 2007 (BST)
They indeed do :-P There's another bug to them though: The riddle generator forgets to check for double numbers. My riddle had two bars of the same length that belonged to different sides. The result is, I now have to check at two different locations. Flt 22:00, 6 June 2007 (BST)
and the first location was not the right location. But... they weren't that horribly far from each other. Now I just got to scrounge 40 silve ores. sigh -skold
Is there an ETA for the fix for this? I have three independent locations (two ways to solve the problem, and bars of the same length) Ordinarily, I wouldn't care, but they're all in the middle of the ocean, and not really close to each other. -- Durkon 17:16, 15 June 2007 (BST)
Well, after the latest fix I no longer have three solutions. The bad news is, I still have two (unless I've done the math wrong) -- Durkon 15:08, 18 June 2007 (BST)
OK, I'll try to put in some time this week to sort out why this code is generating multiple solutions. Darksatanic 15:15, 18 June 2007 (BST)

Boarding Boats

I'm trapped in the North Ocean. I can't board my boat because the oil platform I'm standing on won't let me. Also, you can't board boats from a bridge (though this one might be deliberate.) Gonzometro 00:27, 1 June 2007 (BST)

Have you tried stepping off with winged boots? - Isambard 01:55, 1 June 2007 (BST)
Daedalus wings should work, too. Everybody has a pair of those rummaging around in the bottom of the junk drawer. PotatoEngineer 02:36, 1 June 2007 (BST)
That's a negatron on both of those ideas. I did manage to escape from an adjacent (non-oil platform) square. I still consider this a bug. Gonzometro 03:14, 1 June 2007 (BST)
Should be fixed now. I hope. Darksatanic 11:19, 1 June 2007 (BST)
I was actually about to post this same bug myself... seems its not fixed :( I'm standing on an adjacent square, wearing winged boots AND daedalus wings but i cant escape, and cant board my boat on either square Z0ltar 16:54, 3 June 2007 (BST)

Earlier, BlaisedeC had 3 mixes unlearned: Vodka Martini, Dry Martini, and Zombie. The info.xml page showed 3 mix tags set to 0: BrownCow, Daiquiri, and TomCollins. Nightingspell Malpractice

I got hit by a nightingbreeze spell, and I am now losing 1HP per AP spent. I'm not under the effects of anything else that might cause this. This would also explain why a number of people are reporting no effect from two of them--if the "good" and "bad" effects are canceling out. --Dragon 21:17, 27 May 2007 (BST)
