Contest Details

I'd like to see someone draw a map of the known areas. Showing appoximate location of points of interest. It should ideally be pretty enough to print out and stick on the wall at A3 size. Contest closes 1st September Prizes for all entrants, a "boon" for the winner.

Upload your maps here. They should be portrait and cover all the area from the frozen north 200N to about 80S.

Link entries from this page. Mention the in-game username you are entering under.

By the way, the area from 0N,0E to 100N,100E is "The 'Kingdom". (note the apostrophe).

A "boon" is a negotiated prize. Either a bonus for your character or an in game feature. Think Vashka's ice cream van type thing.

I'm thinking of a travellers' map: so it can include much text if you want - notes on dangers and monsters etc. It should be something to get newbies to pore over.

It can be as big as you like, but should not contain too many Lat/long numbers, but a few are OK. eg. the position of mountain ranges.

Main Page says 1 Sept, above says 1 Oct?
my bad, meant to be 1st sept. sorry about that. Elseware 18:24, 19 August 2006 (BST)

Probably not quite the style you're looking for, since it's more functional than pretty, but it may help other mappers picture things for their entries, since it's the best overview map I've seen for the game (if there are others, I'd like to know): Coast to Coast Map]. --Sam 18:40, 22 August 2006 (BST)

Can't figure out how to link to an image on the wiki without making it inline. It's uploaded as Sam_big_map.jpg if anyone wants to stop it pointing to my home server.
Looks like the wiki can't/won't create a thumbnail because of the size. If you create a smaller version, you can use that as a thumbnail for it probably. MrFoo 18:53, 22 August 2006 (BST)

Cthu1hu

Well, I've managed to upload a thumbnail and also upload the full version of Cthu1hu's World Map, but I'm just too stupid to figure out how to make the thumbnail a link to the larger image. There's probably less text on this map than you were thinking of, Elseware, but hopefully it will appeal nonetheless. Many thanks to Sam for the base map. For the record, I'd be dead keen to get in on some of your survey action... --Cthu1hu 12:58, 31 August 2006 (BST)

MrBlarney

Ugh, too much Real Life action and too little time to do more than a simple draft. Still, I've got to show what I've come up with: the map draft can be found here. It's based mostly off of the places I've explored, so the Frozen North and southern Islands haven't been mapper. Neither have Harvey farm nor the Retirement village been recorded either. Meh, oh well. MrBlarney 23:58, 31 August 2006 (BST)

MrFoo

Hopefully "1st september" means midnight tomorrow, since I've not quite managed to finish my map yet. Still need to add some final details, as well as all the text. But what's done so far is here There's a chance however that I'll not get chance to finish it until Monday though :/ MrFoo 23:54, 31 August 2006 (BST)

Here's my attempt: Cities Map It's not perfect, but has most of the important places on it. MrFoo 20:17, 1 September 2006 (BST)
