Quest:Becoming an Armourer

From Cities

Jump to: navigation, search
Prerequisite: Be a Smith , 20,000 Gold Pieces , a Bowling Ball , a Space Rocket and "A whole bunch of other junk" (whatever that means)
Reward: Become an Armourer
Location: Acme Factory (initially) 46E 96N DSSGCM
  • After visiting the Acme Factory, proceed to a Post Office (you can only order things from shops you have visited). There's one near Water City at 89E 96N DSSGCM. Once there, you will have the option to Examine the Acme Factory catalogue, and order a Box of Parts for 20,000 GP, which takes half a day to arrive. Darksartago 21:45, 1 November 2006 (GMT)
Mine just arrived instantaneously, no wait at all. Invisible 00:20, 7 August 2009 (BST)
  • Combine your Box of Parts with various inventory items including a Bowling Ball and a Space Rocket to create a Devilishly Clever Trap.
Refer to this snapshot of Armourer Wile E. Coyote's pinboard. You should be able to figure out easily what else to put on your shopping list. Flt 16:00, 25 November 2006 (GMT)
Easily? That I don't know about - I think because the picture is actually slightly misleading (the rest of you armourers will know what I'm talking about). It's doable, but when I finally deciphered what I'd need I did growl a bit - it's like the visual equivalent of a text adventure grammar problem. --Rackmount 11:12, 12 December 2006 (GMT)
One more thing: The Cactus and the target are part of the landscape... Flt 20:57, 9 January 2007 (GMT)
That advice steered me wrong. "Landscape," for example, doesn't mean you need to be near a cactus in the game. (There aren't any.) My advice? Don't worry too much about it. Just look at the Box of Parts, and if you have the bits and pieces, just build it. You don't need to be in a desert. You don't need cactus pulp, you don't need to use the box of parts on a creature that talks about targets.
What FLT meant was to ignore them. S. Mackie 16:50, 24 March 2011 (GMT)

  • Then find ye a Road Runner. Catch the Road Runner with the Devilishly Clever Trap, and it drops an Anvil.
  • Practise (50AP) on the anvil, to become an Armourer.
ROFL. That pinboard is *brilliant*. Full marks that man entity. Darksatanic 23:27, 25 November 2006 (GMT)

What is the respawn time for these RoadRunners? I'm 3 days without seeing one. - Masterpete

I wasn't sure if I'd need Jock McStrapp's fine horrible orange brew for climbing the carreer ladder. So I went and got it. Is there anybody who knows if the Jock McStrapp quest is or is not mandatory to this? Rockefellow 02:08, 18 November 2006 (GMT)

It's not essential, no. It's a parallel quest that anyone can do. Jock's friend Paul will be appearing some time soon. Darksatanic 15:59, 18 November 2006 (GMT)
