Prerequisite: "Rock" as a musician
Cost: One solid gold fiddle and 1 AP per iteration, plus up to 5 AP spent practicing an instrument
Reward: Open Mic Night rewards (one reward per iteration)
Location: 6E 66N DSSGCM

At midnight, the Crossroads at 6E 66N DSSGCM turns into a...

Diabolical Crossroads:
There's a small devil here sitting on a hickory stump, humming a sinister tune. However, it
disappears in a puff of orange smoke when you approach.

Practicing an instrument (if you're at the level where you rock) gets him to speak up. (Note that only practicing will trigger him; playing for the wind won't work - so don't practice on a day that you plan to visit the crossroads). This also means you can only speak to him once a night.

There's a small devil here, jumping up and down in a furious rage.

"Curse you and all musicians! I've had enough of the lot of you, always beating me at contests! I
haven't brought back a soul in weeks, and it's costing me a fortune in solid gold instruments. The
boss makes me pay for them if I lose, and I'm not made of money; besides, those things are so
awkward to tune. It's not fair!"

Give him a Solid Gold Fiddle, and...

You lose a Solid Gold Fiddle.
"O frabjous day! I'm ever so grateful, the boss gets terribly angry when I lose one of these."
The devil grins and starts playing, with fire flying from its fingertips. After a few moments you
pick up the tune and join in.
"You haven't got a spare Soul, by any chance? Hmm, suppose it wouldn't be fair after what you've
done for me."

You then gain a musical ability from Open Mic Night that you previously had missed (i.e. calm monsters, rock out in key, play for the four winds, play the harvest song) in the order they were offered. If you've already learned all there is to learn, you don't get any reward.

If you already have all the musical abilities:

You lose a Solid Gold Fiddle.
The devil grins and starts playing, but after a moment the fiddle snaps in half. "Heh,
guess that one's a bit hard for a solid gold instrument. Sorry..."
You gain 49280 Bits of Gold.
You gain 4 Gold Runes.

I take it this means that there's no more musical skills to learn at this time.

(If you're not a good enough musician, the devil simply taunts you.)
