Quest:Killing the Undead Dragon

From Cities

Jump to: navigation, search

Prerequisite: Finish the Snark Hunt
Reward: Dragon Stone, which can be used for self heals. (5AP heals 5HP, 50AP gives full heal)
Location: Temple of Water in Water City at 94E 92N DSSGCM
AP Cost: 20AP to register

After registering you gain the intrinsic ability to tell in which direction the Undead Dragon is located.

The dragon stone can be found only inside the body of the Undead Dragon. Good luck, these
dragons are very dangerous. You are given directions as to how to find an Undead Dragon.

It's one bad ass dragon.

(1500 HP), 20 base damage

Its attacks have various damage effects, such as:

  • lowering your max HP by 2 (or by 3?)
  • lowering your max AP by 2 (any other amount?)
  • removing 5-10AP
  • removing 5 extra HP, actually although it says 5HP in the message, it seems it is actually 15HP so it can do 35 total in a round!
  • removing 1000 XP

Some weapons don't work against it:

  • glass sword
  • golden gun
  • alignment change
  • the Rainbow blade
  • The Vorpal blade (it works, but it doesn't snicker snack)

The Undead Dragon always yields a Dragon Stone when killed.

Strategies

  • Stock up on arrows and dragon's blood, a Midas Wand, or the Head of the Gorgan. The latter two are probably your best weapons, but in their abscence, a high powered bow or Cross/Angry/Furious Bow will do the trick.
  • You can change its alignment, but it changes it back as soon as it scores a hit. This includes if it hits you on the round you change its alignment.
  • accuracy spells + midas wands
  • align the thing with spells (you don't touch it, it doesn't have a chance to change back). knock back a killing blow. wackamole with an appropriate elemental ball (sod, zephyr...). You have 100damage to spare and a shiny new rock.density 13:17, 23 June 2010 (BST)
oh sure, if you're, like, all magicky and stuff. -- Sertularian 02:17, 24 June 2010 (BST)
Sert, you of ALL people should know that you only need to KNOW a magicky person - a properly loaded eyepod will do nicely.  :) Syagrius 06:13, 24 June 2010 (BST)
