Prerequisite: Very talented at your Musical Instrument
Reward: The art of singing
Location: The Lost Island (21E 72S DSSGCM)

When the Lost Island is in its fully risen state, there is a Haunted Bandstand in the middle.

You need to Practise (5AP) on your instrument to get taken to the Cursed Choir. If you are very talented or better, you will be transported to the Cursed Choir. However, if you are no good at your instrument, you will not be able to proceed with the quest

The entire island shakes, as if in anger. Maybe you need more practice.

Whilst in the Cursed Choir you can listen to the singing for 10AP, and you find yourself singing along with them, and have the ability to sing. (You might need to listen repeatedly before you join in. Keep pressing that listen button).

Once you learned the ability to sing, you gain a sing button on the bottom right of the screen, next to Say (1AP) and Shout (3AP). Sing something, and

You sing a note off-key! The choir's tone changes and you find yourself blacking out...

You are sent home! This can be your home city shrine or valhalla, depending on whether you've finished the Asgard quest.

Notes

  • The choir doesn't trust birds flying overhead, let along horses due to an "accident" one evening. If you are on a flying horse you must land to be able to listen to the choir. --TheRealKilgore 00:46, 22 November 2008 (GMT)
  • To make it clear: Singing does not send you to your home shrine!! --Bubba_the_Shy 13:11, 23 April 2007 (BST)
  • For future reference, it doesn't do anything if you play the song taught by Yendor after the 2nd Open Mic Night. In any key. :) Jatt 00:26, 20 July 2006 (BST)
  • There are no special triggers on the bandstand to allow you to practice more than once daily. If you've already practiced that day, you'll have to wait -- Thog 18:40, 10 August 2006 (BST).
  • For the curious, the Cursed Choir is actually a 2x2 region that wraps around at the edges. This means that if two people are in the Cursed Choir at the same time, but on different squares, each will see the other twice if they are adjacent horizontally or vertically, or -- if they are diagonal to each other -- FOUR TIMES. Mindbending.
  • Use of a Reznor Blade (or, presumably, a Singing Sword) counts as singing, too -- you get sent back.
  • You can't enchant a talisman while in the Cursed Choir. Random4518 05:07, 15 December 2006 (GMT)
