Quest:Water Skin

From Cities

Jump to: navigation, search

Prerequisite: Become a Doctor, Heal other players for 2000 HP or more
Reward: Water Skin (reduces damage taken in the Great Desert)
Location: Hospital in Water City at 94E 93N DSSGCM
AP Cost: 100 AP to claim reward (plus AP spent healing)

You attend the long long boring long presentation.
There are four different speeches. You gain a Water Skin.

There doesn't seem to be any additional character title ("Advanced Doctor") for this, and being On Call isn't a pre-requisite, though it may help.

Is that 2000HP of healing once you Become a Doctor, or 2000HP overall (i.e., 1400HP more than the 600 you needed to perform to become a doctor)? - parking_god 15:59, 22 January 2008 (GMT)

Places to Find The Injured

  • Crystal Cave. The Earth Initiation/Getting Wankered quest adds 50 MaxHP, but not current HP, so they'll need healing to get to their new maximum
  • Inside the barrier/dark mountains. Monsters are tough and healers are rare. Players tend to congregate around the standing stones.
  • The School of Hard Knocks has quite a few bruised individuals needing medical attention
and how do you propose getting to the hard knocks school without a water skin? It is on the other side of the Great Desert, I believe.
Try a Brighthelm Stone. It's how I've been getting to the SoHK. --Jeffh 01:42, 21 March 2007 (GMT)
will not let me break a brighthelm rock: "you cannot seem to break it" not sure whyAmishRobots 00:17, 28 April 2009 (BST)
probably because you have not been to Brighthelm (you can only use it if you have been there). The Cult has a Teleporter to SoHK (usually, it was down last I looked) and Ninja Island for free, the Jolly Rogers have one direct to Brighthelm for 4000GP and the Duck Billed Guild have one to the Haunted Farm for 4000GP. --naath 10:39, 28 April 2009 (BST)
The Water Skin is helpful for getting across the desert, but not necessary. I do recommend completing the Gauntlet, though. That, plus some bandages and wands, will get you through. --Dragon 08:17, 19 November 2006 (GMT)
  • The Shrine in each city is usually filled with people who died and came back with their health level at about 75%
  • Check the Current events page to see if there's a free party going on. These tend to attract a lot of high-level players, some of whom will be injured from the monster-killing spree they just spent all that AP on. (The AP bonus will also help you heal more!)
