Alignment Talisman

Comes in Air, Dark, Earth, Fire, Ice, Neutral, Pure, Sewage, Shrimp, Spirit, and Water varieties.

The General Store in each city sells the corresponding one for 200 gold.

You may break an aligned talisman to take you to its alignment shrine.

Arena Talisman

Break for 1AP. Transports you to the The Arena .

Barbelith Talisman

Transports you to a place that displays the RSS feed of [Barbelith]. There is nothing to do in this link farm.

Blank Talisman

Can be bought from the Talisman Maker at 81E 83N for 2000 gold.

Read the Heinlein Collection, chat up the Talisman Maker for 10AP, and learn how to enchant Blank Talismans if you have read them all. The newly enchanted talisman becomes a teleport to wherever you were standing at the moment you enchanted it, however there are few places one can't use an ordinary talisman and walk to for less than 100AP. Islands are perhaps one of the best uses.

Also Bognor, and a talisman to the Engine Room in Brighthelm will make the Pub Crawl simpler.

Does anyone know if you can enchant one and then trade it so someone else can get around quicker? For example, if I were to begin selling Hard Knocks talismans would they work for other people? Jon 13:21, 26 August 2006 (BST)

Yes, it should work (that's my shop, btw). Keep in mind that since an enchanted talisman is a unique item, the normal Markets won't sell it. Also, if you sell them at a market stall, each talisman counts as a different item (toward your item limit) even if they're enchanted to the same place. --Dragon 17:29, 26 August 2006 (BST)
A rule of thumb is that you can only enchant talismans on squares where the coordinates are visible. Ponder on that for a minute. --Bubba_the_Shy 21:40, 26 May 2007 (BST)

If you're potentially suffering from location jumps (I was learning to mix cocktails and had had one that made me jump squares) then your talisman will be enchanted to wherever you end up, not where you were when you clicked to enchant the talisman. --smudgepuss 12:20, 26 March 2007 (BST)

Dojo Talisman

Break for 1AP. Gained from the Sensei when you ask for training.

Other people at your location see you disappear in a puff of ch'i.

Well, I have been there, and the talisman isn't working for me either, not even from within the thieve's forest. When I try to break the talisman, nothing happens except a *snap*. I thought maybe I couldn't use it while wearing a hat, but now I've lost my hat and it still doesn't work. Any ideas? BlueM&M 03:12, 20 April 2006 (BST)
OK, after going back a second time, the talisman works. Perhaps you have to give one weapon before it will work. BlueM&M 04:11, 22 April 2006 (BST)

Here's how it works. The Dojo Talisman will transport you to the Dojo, but they only work after you have successfully given the trainer 1 weapon. Before that, they snap and nothing happens. --Mick Sterbs 13:00, 6 July 2006 (BST)

Flat Talisman

Break for 1AP. Takes you to Flatland.

Other people at your location see you disappear in a cartesian fashion.

Turn a Blank Talisman into a Flat Talisman by use of an Anvil.

Kings Crest Talisman

Takes you to the Throne Room in 1AP. Note that because you need 2500 xp to visit the king, if you reach the Throne Room this way, you won't be able to get out of the Royal Palace on foot (you'll need either another talisman or to be summoned away). Buy for 800GP from 'King's Store in the Royal Palace.

Other people at your location hear you disappear in a fanfare of trumpets.

Limbo Talisman

Break for 1AP. Takes you to Limbo, where all the boring people get sent.

Can be bought at the 'King's Store for 1000 gold pieces.

Other people at your location see you fade from view.

Mall Talisman

Takes you to Darth Mall (a random tile of the lobby).

People see you disappear with a clang of cash registers. (think 'Money' by Pink Floyd)

Marwell Talisman

Takes you to the Marwell Zoo at 200E 600N.

If you are in Oz and break the talisman, an aligned talisman will take you back to the 'Kingdom. -Kressida 07:20, 15 May 2007 (BST)

Northwich Talisman

Break for 75AP - takes you to Weaver Square in Northwich! Available from the Indoor Market at Northwich for 10000 Gold.

Other people see you disappear in a cascade of ice.

Not everyone can break one of these. (I don't yet know what the exact criteria are -- have to have delivered a piano? have to have visited Northwich?) Trying to break one purchased from the mall gives me:

South-West Tunnel Talisman

Given by the archaelogists at the Ancient Altar in the "Labyrinth". It seems that each character can only receive one.

Thieves' Talisman

Acquired during the Master Thief training quest - Warps you to his hideout. It only works for people who've actually met the Master Thief. There's a magic block on other people using it (after, say, acquiring through trade) -

You really think thieves would make a quick way for the general public to find their hideout?

(once only worked after you'd provided his first snack...)

Other people at your location see you disappear into the shadows.

Vault Talisman

Available at Wizards' Towers for 12,000 gold. Using it takes you to the Vaults, where you can use a Vault Permit to set up a vault. You can create a key for 1 AP (which may be shared with other adventurers), add items to your vault for 0AP and remove items for 1 AP. Exiting the Vault (1 AP) returns you to where you were when you broke the Vault Talisman.
