FYI. I already started a page for this quest over here. We should probably combine the two... -- Thog 13:05, 27 July 2007 (BST)

19:21 < elseware_> I've just finished coding the rewards for the ninja island quest! 19:21 <@MrFoo> Ninja island quest? 19:21 < elseware_> it's just not open yet 19:22 <@greycat> yay! 19:22 < elseware_> I need to code the quest 19:22 <@greycat> boo! 19:22 < elseware_> although it'll be pretty simple... 19:22 <@MrFoo> I'm fairly close to there thankfully. 19:22 < elseware_> nah 19:22 < elseware_> you need to be up ne 19:22 < elseware_> NE 19:22 < elseware_> the quest largely involves killing toroises 19:22 < elseware_> to get ninja weapons
19:30 < elseware_> anyhow 19:30 < elseware_> pub! 19:31 < elseware_> and save those ninja weapons... 19:31 < elseware_> lv 1 requires 10 of one kind... 19:31 < elseware_> eg ten staffs
01:13 <@elseware> ninja island 01:13 <@elseware> now open
01:15 <@elseware> the ninja island quest has 15 parts 01:15 <@elseware> and I think the highest levels are unreasonable 01:15 <@elseware> (so assume they'll be done by dawn) 01:15 <@Kaos_Dragon> Is it worth it? 01:15 <@elseware> no 01:16 <@elseware> but it gives a unique new toy
03:54 <@Kaos_Dragon> Gah! 03:54 <@Kaos_Dragon> To train will require 20 NunChucks and 20000 Gold. 03:55 <@Kaos_Dragon> Can't tell if anything happened...
03:59 <@Kaos_Dragon> I wonder what I got... 03:59 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10000 Gold Pieces. 03:59 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10 Nun Chucks. 03:59 <@Kaos_Dragon> You train like anything.
04:36 <@Kaos_Dragon> Huh, there's more then one dojo. 04:36 <@Kaos_Dragon> A Staff dojo to the east and it looks like there's another beyond. 04:36 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10000 Gold Pieces. 04:36 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10 Bo Staffs. 04:36 <@Kaos_Dragon> You train like anything. 04:37 <@Thog> CRAP! Aligning a Ninja now triggers a Server Error 04:37 <@Kaos_Dragon> And the last is a Sai dojo. 04:38 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10000 Gold Pieces. 04:38 <@Kaos_Dragon> You lose 10 Sais. 04:38 <@Kaos_Dragon> You train like anything. 04:42 <@Thog> Well, I can say that level 2 of Sai training is 20 Sai and 20K gold 04:46 <@Thog> <tick>I AM NINJA! I AM INVINCIBLE!!!!</tick> 04:46 <@Thog> *splut* 04:47 <@Thog> So we have Staff, Nunchuck, and Sai Training. Where's the Catana training?
Do Wizards get the damage modifier? Anyone checked yet?
Why would we need Catana training when we can simply align them? :)
- Because we want it!--Hamelin 01:18, 3 August 2007 (BST)
So... If I train a bunch of times with the nun chucks will I gain an attack against the next monster in the clockwise fashion each time (so that at level three I get an attack on every monster around me?). With Sai, do you get more and more attacks with each time you train? With the bo, does the increased chance to hit keep going up?density 15:40, 14 August 2007 (BST)
- Yes, except for the bo staffs since I guessed it wrong at first. So 5 levels of nunchuck training will hit everything around you and the first and second monster twice. 5 levels of sais will give 5 attacks. 5 levels of bo staff will be like wearing 5 iron blings(only when held).Kaos Dragon 00:23, 26 August 2007 (BST)
- Is four levels the maximum? Or is there more? Azuaron 00:19, 26 October 2007 (BST)
The original ninja training is required, but I'm not sure how much.
You need to train at the forest dojo before we will be able to teach you.
It should be noted that this quest is incredibly boring, and (as elseware warned) completely unreasonable. The new weapon skills are fun, but like my other martial arts training, I'll probably never use them. That said, for those of us cursed with the "must finish every quest" disease, here are a few tips. To anyone else who has completed the quest (or is in the middle of it), feel free to add some observations of your own. --JAD 17:17, 9 February 2008 (GMT)
- Make more pizza than you need. You will need 150 slices for bo staff training, 150 slices for nun chuck training, and 75 slices for sai training. You will run into a few problems along the way. First, you will run into air-aligned tortoises as well. Second, once you finish gathering sais, you will run into excess earth-aligned tortoises. Third, some people are not very nice, and will misalign the air tortoises so that other people will kill them. While there are ways around these "bad turtles," you will be very tempted to kill them. Plus, who couldn't use excess catanas and other ninja weapons? As a result, arm yourself with a bunch of excess pizza slices so you don't become incredibly frustrated. I started with about 500 slices and had about 50 left when I finished. Thus, I suggest gathering about 100 to 150 extra pizza slices before you start questing.
- Finish the first open mic night reward before you venture into the sewers. Not only can you passify those irritating air-aligned tortoises (though you really are better off killing them), but you can also passify diagonas (which may be the most annoying monster in the game). This is also useful for getting by the ninjas on ninja island.
- Find a space with a lot of sewer paths, and claim it as your own. Monsters respawn about every half hour, so you can kill everything you see, wait half an hour, and repeat. Tortoises spawn pretty frequently, so if you find a nice patch of sewage, I think this is the best way to find tortoises. Of course, if you use this strategy, you'll have to kill everything that spawns (see tip number 1), otherwise you will be overrun by air tortoises and diagonas, and the short respawn rate will do you no good. There are a bunch of good spots along the west wall of the sewers. My favorite spot was just west of the engineer.
