CFV: Page split
I think the page for party plans should be split off from Terrain:Free Party which should be a general description of the location type and behaviour, perhaps to Party or Free Party - jmb 03:01, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Sounds good to me. Party planning or Party schedule would work too. --Dragon 07:47, 22 May 2007 (BST)

Questions
Can the person hosting the party leave the party? Or will the party fold up if they leave? -- X-Himy 23:28, 9 November 2006 (GMT)
- The host is free to leave the party, and to return if desired, just like anyone else. -- Sertularian 02:02, 10 November 2006 (GMT)
As I'm guessing the interest in building rigs has increased I would like to share some of my thoughts:
- Don't hog the materials for the rig, it only takes one person/week to host a free party and the benfits can be shared by all. If we cooperate we can have a free party every week, but if everyone is hogging the components, while trying to build their own rigs, free parties will be few and far apart.
- It would only take a horribly long time before every one has their own rig, but at the end it doesn't change the party frequency--Solune 10:12, 22 September 2006 (BST)
- Don't price the components way out of proportion, like for an imaginary example charging 50000 for a Deck, we want the components to be used not sit idle in a store.
- Put an ad in on the current events page a few days in advance and name the time and place.
In addition to the rig, does the party host also need a dose of magic powder and pouch of magic herb to start the party up? It's a bit unclear to me at the moment. Zingus 17:13, 24 September 2006 (BST)
- I actually don't know. I had that stuff in my inventory and it was used up when I set the rig up. It might be any drug in your inventory for all I know. We will receive more info when the Burning Man and Oz Fest parties kick off I hope. TerrorRemedy
- The party host does not need to have any drugs to start the party. -Jon 20:21, 15 March 2007 (GMT)
- I think it is safe to say that setting up the rig will consume all of your Magic Powder, Mushrooms and Pouch of Magic Herbs. Might be a good idea to put all your drugs up for sale on the markets before setting up the rig (or at least sell the Magic Powders to a Wizards Tower for 2000 each)
- I lost all of my magic powder, mushrooms, and pouch of magic herbs. Didn't think to put them in a bag first. -- Sertularian 12:32, 10 October 2006 (BST)
I lost 5 Kudos when I joined the party. What's up with that? --Dragon 05:41, 10 October 2006 (BST)
- I seem to have gained 5 kudos from each person to join the party, after the first 5 people. (I am now divine!) -- Sertularian 12:32, 10 October 2006 (BST)
Do you think that now with the new party operation where we don't see each other we can take stuff out of bags safely there, or will we end up losing stuff? I'm sure I had found a more relevant place to ask that, but anyway, has any of you had any bag accidents since parties changed? --Deva 12:36, 4 May 2007 (BST)
- I haven't even even dared trying to use a bag, but I had a rollback on practising the fiddle yesterday. So I'd say there's still a risk of bag accidents. Ravensdance 18:14, 4 May 2007 (BST)
For those of you who have actually thrown a party, do you know how many people joined? I ask because when I finally am able to throw my own party, I'd like to make it a big affair with party favors for everyone that joins. I'll probably acquire more than enough stuff to give out by the time I find the records I need, but I like to be prepared. -Scrumbucket 04:20, 16 July 2007 (BST)
- My party was in Oz and had roughly 80-90 attendees. I'd guess that a party near a major 'Kingdom city might attract up to twice that. --Dragon 04:29, 16 July 2007 (BST)
- See the logs from the parties I've hosted; you can get counts of attendees there. I'd suggest limiting your giveaways to the first 100 attendees. If you host your party near a major city, at this point I'd expect that many guests or more. -- Sertularian 13:03, 16 July 2007 (BST)
- My party last week would have a little over 200 attendees, based on the increase in my Kudos. Ravensdance 20:47, 16 July 2007 (BST)

Terrain Question
Any idea about limitations on the terrain a party can be thrown? I have an idea about throwing a party in the interior but am not sure if that will fly. Snare 00:07, 30 December 2006 (GMT)
- Parties can be thrown in the interior. The 'King has said almost any terrain which can be reached through normal means is fair game. there's a list of prohibited terrains on the main page, but you might get an exception from the GLs.
Summoning
Implemented.
Scheduling
I realize it's still 2 months away, but I'm paranoid. Looking at the schedule of upcoming parties, it looks like we have about 3 weeks unaccounted for between roughly March 11 and April 1. I know Deva said he could host sooner, but that still leaves some open time. I could put together a party in there as well, I just don't want to jump on any spots that someone else might like to host during. So, is there anyone with a rig ready or nearly ready that can host during March?
- I have a rig ready now, for any time there is no party. -- Sertularian 03:08, 3 February 2007 (GMT)
Also, as a favor, could people please try to keep the posts in the list in chronological order? Perhaps put it at the bottom if you've got some components and an interest in hosting but no idea of when and those with firm dates just put them above those? Or maybe I'm just whiney =] -Jon 12:18, 30 January 2007 (GMT)
- I may well have another rig ready by March (2 records to go), though I don't think it's necessarily a huge problem if we get the occasional gap between parties -- it gives people a chance to do time-intensive activities that would otherwise keep them away from a party, like growing crops.
- Nothing wrong with not having one, but if it's possible to, no reason not to do so! And you can still grow crops during that. -Jon 20:21, 15 March 2007 (GMT)
- With regards to the Party Hosting table, I think it may be worth splitting it into two tables now it's getting popular. One table for the schedule of parties, and another for people who are still planning their party and/or trying to finish their components. Ravensdance 18:26, 30 January 2007 (GMT)
- I second that. Also, is anyone still using the supplies table? I know I generally skip right past it. Might be worth laying out the page differently with the very top remaining, then the schedule, summon requests, those who'd like to host if/when they have enough stuff and then supplies. Anyone agree? -Jon 20:21, 15 March 2007 (GMT)
- I agree; perhaps we might also want to split the party table into three, with the older party history elsewhere on the page so the schedule near the top only lists the currently relevant information. Ravensdance 07:51, 16 March 2007 (GMT)

I see BlaisedeC is scheduled to host a party in about a week. I sent him an IM the other day since I hadn't seen him around IRC (maybe he showed up after I lost my IRC access?) or at the parties and he said he hadn't had time to play any games recently. I kept it short and didn't press him for details but, I'd say it's probably safe to say his party won't occur. Snare 00:36, 9 November 2007 (GMT)
Emergency Party Planning
We might want to add this to the main page, but for now I just want to determine if anyone thinks this might be worth tracking. It's been rare that the scheduled host hasn't been able to put together a party when they say, but in the event that it happens, do we want to have a couple of people who can host on a moment's notice so we know who to PAYG? Right now I've got two rigs and some assorted components. One of those is reserved for my bday party in May, but I'd be willing to use the other if a scheduled host couldn't make it for any reason. In order to make things as smooth as possible, I'd suggest that these emergency parties be hosted on the original planned location whenever possible and implemented as soon as it's known the scheduled host can't make it. Obviously we should give them some time to get in and setup, so i'd propose that at 17:00 GMT on the calendar day after the scheduled start we should consider a backup. It's not that we can't live without a party for a few days, we just don't want to =] -Jon 20:21, 15 March 2007 (GMT)
- This sounds sensible to me, and I have a spare rig that I have no plans for yet, so I'd be happy to be the second on-call party host. Ravensdance 07:47, 16 March 2007 (GMT)
- I can host parties in an emergency, and would be happy to do so. (Surprise, surprise!) -- Sertularian 11:42, 16 March 2007 (GMT)
If there's no party by 17:00 tomorrow (5/22) I'll set one up as well as host next week. Cast your vote here for where you'd like it. -Jon 03:23, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Oz as advertised would be nice... Phw 03:59, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- I was actually going to suggest saving Rigs until the locking thing blows over...but given that I was actually able to spend AP today, I vote Oz as well. (It's been a while...) --Dragon 07:49, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Oz Please. jennyann 08:55, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Another vote for Oz, please Andrewsi 09:00, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Ditto (angelsk) --195.171.79.210 12:49, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Oz it is! Just North of Atlantish, right next to the Mall entrance. -Jon 17:09, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- A second cocktail party would be great, so I suggest Ignatz's retreat (or some other place in the Island area) Flt 07:39, 22 May 2007 (BST)
- Is the party for this week in limbo ? Rembrandt 03:44, 19 November 2007 (GMT)
