Monastry

Note: This information was taken from other pages on the wiki; I personally don't have enough AP to verify this personally. Stevie-O

One in each city, named for each of the authors of the gospels.

  • Will we be seeing a Judas one shortly?
*If so, we'd need a Mary one as well.

Also placed by roads in the countryside and just north of the Festival.

At a monastry, you can rest yourself. There are three different lengths of time you can rest for.

Rest

For 50 AP, you can Rest at the monastry. Doing so will heal you for 25HP, which is a rate of 0.5 HP per AP. Not good, but it's free. Rumor has it that this would also reduce your caffiene tolerance. Another rumor has it that it no longer does.

I got healed for 50 HP at the monastry next to the Large Dragon Spire 27E 28N. Maybe because I am a Baron now? I can't remember the healing during my previous visits, so I have no idea if something has changed or the above information is wrong. And to be honest, I do hope it reduces my Caffeine Tolerance. I also got 50 HP at 73E 44N. I'm a Baron at the moment too. RockHawk 09:22, 17 September 2007 (BST)

Retreat

For 300 AP, you can take a Retreat. This will give you an item called a Measure of Serenity, which can be cashed in for an instant 150AP bonus -- much like a can of Red Bull, except without the annoying caffiene-tolerance-related effects. You might also need one for the Standing Stones quest or the Totems Quest, it seems.

Do not try to sign up for a retreat while wearing bling.

: The monks, being an ascetic order, refuse to accept you into the monastry until
: you have renounced your materialism, and taken off all your bling.

Similarly the Red Hat Fedora:

: The priests demand you take off that silly hat. This is a sacred temple, not a sysadmin convention!

Long Retreat

For 1000 AP, you can take a Long Retreat, which is the same as a regular Retreat, except you get four (4) Measures of Serenity. An excellent option if you're going to go on vacation and don't want to waste all the AP you'll earn while you're gone, because it's about 7 days worth of AP if you're at 10min/AP.

I was also healed from 38 HP to 240 HP (my maximum). -- Greycat 192.35.79.70 15:32, 24 May 2006 (BST)
