This is just a little page of questions I've had about stuff, and not found answers to in the rest of the wiki. So, stuff I wonder about. Some of them may have been answered already elsewhere, and I just didn't happen to see it. Or it may be that i just felt like exploring the questions even more deeply, to get every nit-picking detail. Or I forgot the answers, or I'm just insane. If you know the answers to any of this, feel free to add your input, but it may not stop me from just having to see the truth first-hand. And this is why I originally created amishtestbot. Though I'm just as likely to use one of my other alts to test these things out.

this page will likely remain a horribly disorganized pile of crap.

Church of Rodney

did any thing ever become of this possible quest thing that DS mentions here?

Flatland Observations

(via Hatsy Klein)

Hatsy Klein disappears in a cartesian fashion.

ALcohol effects DEFINITELY carry over, including pink; can't wait to see how "toadiness" works out..

everythign is "sexy"

will "bloinking" work? would it possible to get into the forbidden square? what are the chances?

Okay, I am definitely become Toad, with tongue and all, need to go lick something other than myself, definitely hallucinating..

I lick the line...

(I miss every time)

Ok, now I'm using fists.. -190% to-hit, so...

...

...

dead, sober, shrine of water..

I wonder if you can heal or be healed in flat land?

say, what happens if you lose your corpse to a flat-lander?

Killer Queen

did these things change?

The Killer Queen sings 'Temporarily out of gas'.
The Killer Queen sings 'To absolutely drive you wild, wild'.
The Killer Queen sings 'She's out to get you'.
The Killer Queen sings 'She's a Killer Queen'.
You say 'Gunpowder, gelatine'
The Killer Queen screams in rage!
You cause 5 points of damage.

Ah, you have to sing the line /after/ the line she is /about/ to sing; and everytime you fail, she repeats all the lines she already sang (still only does 1 x 20 dmg) /and/ her new one.

the Aralim Battle

hit a "monster" it became a damn Aralim

Vorpal blade does not appear to snicker snack.

You gain 1747 Bits of Gold.
You gain an Amok Spell.

You gain 10 Quarrels.
Now using Fists.

Tar, Mortar, Feathers

I was hoping perhaps, that attacking a Tar monster, (or tar baby) with a mortar, might cause it to grow, in some way. Sadly nothing seems to happen. It happily digests your weapon, and that is the end of it.

Likewise, attacking them with just tar seems to have no effect.

I have tar, and I have feathers. There seems to be no way to combine them..

I believe I should go make a few more suggestions (that will likely never be implemented)

Sonic Trent Screwdriver

You attack the Fire Fox.
You sing 'no you can't take it
no you can't take it
no you can't take that away from me'
The schisms have closed, your pet will need feeding properly very soon!!
The Knights who say Ni scream.
You cause 50 points of damage, and receive 20 experience.
You lose a Screwdriver.
You gain a Sonic Screwdriver.
You cause 6 points of damage, and receive 24 experience.

Now using Fists. Now using Sonic Screwdriver.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You lose a Half a Sonic Screwdriver. You lose a Buggy. You gain a Shark Buggy. Now using Fists.

BAM!

Healing/on call

What happens when a healthy player requests healing from an on call doctor?

You are fine, you hypochondriac!

Mimic

Apparently the mimic "lives in the moment" ; that is, If your fleeting strength spell happens to wear off during your attack, well...

You attack the Shaman bernie.
You cause 400 points of damage, and receive 240000 experience.
You lose a Water Bomb.
A spell wore off.
The Shaman bernie causes 150 points of damage.

1.5x dmg applies to the damage you could do after your last attack, so...

Killing blow might be very effective against Mimics?

dragon claws

You attack the bernie the dragon.
You cause 100 points of damage, and receive 0 experience.
The bernie the dragon causes 0 points of damage.

so... claws don't translate as usable weapons for the mimic? Interesting...

Parrots

Apparently parrots can steal your kill, of at least one sort of monster. Fascinating.

Now using Sheet of Paper. You say 'damn it!'

The Knights who say Ni scream.

You cause 50 points of damage, and receive 20 experience.

Sioux the Parrot says 'damn it!'.

...

You attack Sioux the Parrot.

You cause 2 points of damage, and receive 1 XP and 1 HP

You slay Sioux the Parrot.

You add the trophy to your case!

You gain 69 Gold Pieces.

You gain 3 Palantirs-as-you-go.

You gain 2 Feathers.

You gain a Rusty Sword.

Seems that monsters who kill other monsters get the loot.

but now I wonder what sort of things might happen if a parrot were ever near a killer queen?

and what if there was a long chain of parrots, stretching from one player, to another player far away?

Silver Weapon vs Undead Dragon

I assume this would create a Spirit Sword/Knife/Catana etc. ,yeah?

While I'm on the subject; I am assuming that aligning a fire/etc. dragon to a different element has NO effect on how a silver weapon works? I mean, yeah, stupid question (and probably answered in the wiki if I bother to look, but I'm a bit lazy

Poking Uncle Henry

if you poke around in the Lounge in Kansas with a pokey stick, it breaks the game. Costs no AP though, so that's fine.

Same goes for Auntie Em.

drinking from the well

egad! drinking from the well is BAD!!! if your current hp is higher than your max hp, one sip from the well will take away all those extra hp points, setting you at max hp! Bernie found this out the hard way.

eat before swimming

eating just before entering a lake square seems to have no effect whatsoever. Bernie has just eaten all the candy in his inventory and then gone for a nice swim

Repeat Action Box

entering "joe" or "god" or even "many" into the #repeats box does pretty much nothing. ignores your stupidity and resets the text field upon return.

"10.5" or "11.42" or any legitemate # with a decimal point after it, and then another # gives a slightly more interesting result: in the case of "11.2" for example, it will repeat the action 11 times, then when it comes back to you, the ".2" will be left in the text box

negative numbers: pretty much ignores the number, but leaves it in the field on return (it will still say "-2" or whatever)

Equations: do apparently not much. "3-2" resulted in action being repeated 3 times. it seems to take whatever number it sees first and ignore all else, then clears the text field (text field defaults to "1" anyway)

"2.banana": does 2 reps, then resets the text field

"10.999 and then go make me a sandwich" resulted in 10 reps, and "0.999000000000001" was left in the text box

"10.999000000000001&4" aparently resulted in 10 reps, and then another rep. though i may be mistaken

"1&2" does'nt do anything special really

"1.04&4" results in 2 reps, "2.04&4" results in 3 reps "3.04&4" results in 4 reps " in all these cases ".04" is left in the text box upom return. "1.04&9" gives 2 reps. "2.04&stop" gives 3 reps

this experiment proves conclusively, that i need a hobby.Or possibly a girlfriend.

sir/baron/earl/dukedom

you can pretty much fulfill the requirements to any of these before reaching any level, and it will count when you go to advance to that level. Say you kill 10 dragons before making sir, it will count for baron or whatever. You still have to kneel before the king for each level though; he's not going to automatically skip you from nothing to duke just because you've killed 20 undead dragons and are holding the cucumber sandwiches. getting declared "sir" is apparently the unspoken requirement for becoming baron and so on.

also, killing the undead dragon counts as one dragon towards your goals, each time you kill him. while we're on the subject:

Undead Dragon

Bernie has killed like 9. under "completed quests" ("me" page) it only says "You have defeated the Undead Dragon." once. You don't need to go and register at water city for killing him. you can find him just fine with the tarot deck. But does it count as completing the quest if you never register? damn, i forget if i did the first time or not. I will have to look into that. Either way, everytime you kill him, it adds one to your "dragons killed" tally. So I highly suggest it for aspiring barons.

The best way that bernie has found to kill him is to get a hold of an eyepod loaded up with accuracy improving spells (mystic aim is a favorite), then get a midas wand, and nail him in about one shot. You may not need the accuracy spells though; Bernie's base to-hit is at 40%. Still, they can hurt really. I couldn't tell you wether this endeavour is financially worthwhile, but if you're rich and clumsy, it is a lot of fun.

duel

Poison Darts? poisoning? Triffid Sting? etc.?

wands of alignment?

Wands of alignment change the alignment of the target. Permanently (at least till they find a way to change it again). Rhapsodie 08:12, 14 October 2008 (BST)

wand of anger? nothing i assume, but still.

You attack Baron A stranger MD.
The Baron A stranger MD gets angry.
Baron A stranger MD attacks you using Sacrificial Sword.
They cause 8 points of damage.

werewolfs: can you infect another player?

Nope. Rhapsodie 08:12, 14 October 2008 (BST)
just to fully 100% clarify: not even in the duel?

golden guns? gold?

Works rather well, though could be expensive. The victim does not get the gold. Glass swords could be cheaper, depending on the duelist's gold supply Syagrius 06:28, 7 January 2009 (GMT)

head of the gorgan?

Works. Merchant typically travels with one (in case he gets summoned to the Theives Forest -- Thog 05:24, 7 January 2009 (GMT)

You attack Baron A stranger MD.

They cause 8 points of damage.

albertabot

giving items (gold piece, piece of wood) to her seems to achieve nothing. poking her achieves nothing saying "!item glass wand" also does nothing; nor does simply saying "alberta" she seems to be pretty much oblivious ingame

Creating a character named "/kick abc q" and then getting him killed does not apparently cause her to kick abc off the IRC channel. I was really hoping #cities would interpret the command, and ignore every thing after the space (hence " q" to get around the comma she puts in at the end of your name) Sadly, this failed.

Parrots

you need only say "name" not for instance, "james the parrot" you can also say "go jump in a lake james" to achieve the desired effect. (getting your 1 gp) its usually more lucrative to kill them I think.

Death

the whole reason i originally created bernie. Being at the top of "times died per day" doesn't seem to impart any special bonus iirc. though it does seem to annoy everyone on the irc channel. I really thought they'd be more happy about it; I guess somehow i envisioned a scene like that old woody woodpecker cartoon, at niagra falls, where the one guy keeps getting stuck in the barrel going over the falls and all the onlookers in their yellow raincoats cheer as they see him plummet over the falls, again and again. It does remove your kudos though.and i'm pretty sure it takes away xp as well. Also, Alberta stops mourning you, and starts giving you the "bernie, not again?" message in irc. Although I wonder if that one was tailor made for bernie alone, or just instituted as a new part of her programming round that time. I may have to look into this with another character. Also, summoning a competing death alt to the middle of the ocean is a fun way to screw with their character, although obviously they can just use another alt to summon them back. Chances are a death alt will not own a boat, know how to swim(not that swimming matters in the ocean), or be carrying a lot of tali's on them (or much of anything else really) I mean its hard to win a deathrace when you have to spend two days at shrine every time you die.

I'm not sure why everyone seems to hate Bernie so much, but they do. I guess he's just too emo for most folks.

scissor beasts

dragon stone

will kill scissor beasts. still no option to break.

will also wear out if used as a weapon too often. Found that out the hard way. Syagrius 17:14, 2 February 2009 (GMT)
=summon stone=

works as well

Shops/the Mall

opened my new shop entitled "Empty Lot" on floor 13 of the mall. I forget if it normally does this on floor 13, i seem to think it does, so i really doubt that the odd name had anything at all to do with this:

Hmm, your shop appears to have burned down or something weird. I blame database pixies.
You lose a Stall Permit (6 items).
Commence commerce!
Now using Fists.

Database Pixies

I believe that's what the game says now when you get in that wierd state where it forgets you closed a previous stall -- Thog 23:49, 29 April 2009 (BST)
