Note: Someone gave me a great idea. If you plan to take the trek, please take a few Cans of Worms with you. Those Demons can a reaaaaaly pain in the ass, and we don't want them spawning on us. Especially the Fire Demons.

Here's what you'll need:

  • At least 10,000XP. Without it, you won't be able to walk south, which makes things very difficult. If you can enter the Great Desert, you're good to go.
  • Ten tarot cards. Not just any ten cards, though -- one of the following 38 sets:

  • A few levels of HK are not strictly necessary, but will likely be helpful.
  • Several Glass Swords will also be helpful. I hear some of those Demons are nasty.

  • A Summon Stone
  • The ability to put up without doing any real playing for about a week.

If you think you're up to the task, go to Cities:Military Island Hoppers and register your name in the list for Bombadier Island. Then, in the game, head over to the Park Bench in Windy City and give me your Summon Stone. That Stone will be used to summon you. I'm ready to collect the Summon Stones right now. Oh, and make sure you update the list to record that you've given me a Stone -- you can't expect me to keep track of all that! Also, if someone else joins in, you can use the list to help balance things out.

The Plan

The plan from there is this: when I'm ready, I will make my way over to Bombadier Island, and start summoning a few people. If you're summoned, and you receive the original stone (uncracked), you will be expected to do at least one summons yourself. If you're up to the task, put your name on the preceding list, so people know they can give you Summon Stones.

Once we get there, it's pretty much up to you. I'm mostly coordinating the summonings here.

Advice from people who have already done the Caverns can go here.

  • It's really best if people all of the same alignment go through together; saves on the wanding risk. If you have a big crowd of all the alignments then the caverns are going to get awfully hectic - and painful! - with all that wanding back and forth. -- Celane 12:13, 19 July 2006 (BST)
  • If you don't care too much about AP and don't want to take a risk of loosing something to a demon, just walk past it with a cloak of invisibility. Although some of the big demons might not let you past. Kaos Dragon 19:27, 19 July 2006 (BST)
It's true! Losing 10 AP now is better than 5 AP or % forever, and temporary AP regenerates. I spent only a few days on this quest, and never left my Cloak of Invisibility unless there was only one available route. macksting 19:35, 19 July 2006 (BST)
  • By that same token, the path isn't truly that critical. You can check your Me page against the Wiki to be certain you've completed any given altar (and at only about 10 altars, that's not so tough) and, as long as you make it to all the altars, the path is meaningless. I doubled back on my path a few times for lack of cards or to avoid a demon; although it probably added a day to my time, and cost me a few extra cards, it was worth it. macksting 19:40, 19 July 2006 (BST)
  • It's generally better to put up the time and effort to avoid a fight than it is to actually duke it out. You're in this for accuracy and black powder, not for a good fight. macksting 19:40, 19 July 2006 (BST)
  • Go in groups of similar alignment, because demons wanded to your alignment will often let you pass. Wanding gets easier as you go on (because your accuracy increases), so even if it's dodgy at the beginning it will get easier later. If you have to fight a demon, choose water demons first (they do a crapload of damage, but nothing permanent), then air demons (losing max AP is much better than losing max HP or % accuracy - particularly for a player like me who's almost always in AP debt anyway). I just completed it, and there are lots of fire-aligned demons there at the moment - so fire players are in luck! Rackmount 21:31, 19 July 2006 (BST)
  • If you want to be absolutely sure, I recommend bringing along at least one Golden Gun, and enough GP to instakill a few of the big demons. That and a Cloak of Invisibility should guarantee success with no chance of permanent stat loss. Random4518 04:41, 20 July 2006 (BST)
