More than enough, sorry if I asked for too much--Che-T 04:36, 12 August 2008 (BST)

Hi again. I know you "cant" win I just added you for reference, and because there only was 1 person in the glory category. In the royal champion thing, I probably misunderstood you, and since you are the king, you should decide the royal champion (bested at all or on average) just let me know which one you prefer, and I fix things. Sorry for my mistakes --Che-T 17:27, 22 August 2008 (BST)

Space Douchebaggery

Sir, I ask you to visit this link. Your assistance if possible would be very much appreciated. --Ade 23:14, 25 June 2007 (BST)

Akash

I assume it was you who posted on my talk page, they didn't sign it though, so if not, whoops. :) Ok, I said something to him, and he still wants to keep doing stuff. But the IP address that was blocked WAS his school's, apparently. He said he did it from there, and he had forgotten he had played from there before so he didn't think everyone would know he did it. Also, I don't go to school with him anymore. I'm a college kid now. ;-) The only times I've played on the same IP as him have been when I'm at his house, and if you block that, no biggie, I didn't play much at his house, just checked up on my character, etc. So block away, if you need to. But be warned, he talked about all the libraries in the area and friend's houses that he could go to, so I don't know what to tell you about all that. Jatt 16:46, 5 April 2006 (BST)

Then we'll block them one at a time, as and when necessary. Darksatanic 16:50, 5 April 2006 (BST)
I agree. They can be treated as everyday spam, which we're used to by now :) Moj 17:11, 5 April 2006 (BST)

Wriggling Road

We've noticed that worms do not spawn on "danger" squares. Is that how the desert was designed, or did you or another admin see the planning for this and say "no, we don't want that"? Either way, it's ok, I'd just rather not spend everyone's effort putting something together if it's going to be nullified from above. Billz8 00:06, 29 March 2006 (BST)

i didn't change anything. Elseware 00:31, 29 March 2006 (BST)

A Matter to Bring to Your Attention

We were going to email you or whatever, but we couldn't find an address, so we just put it here. I was talking to Akash, and he told me he found something disturbing. In his letter of apology in Conversations, he ended by saying, "once again i am sorry." He just found, after that sentence sonmeone had edited it to say, "i would also like to say FU Mike J." I did some investigating, and checked the recent changes, and it was changed on Marxh 25, at 21:03 by I.P address 70.248.66.72. Akash left it up so others could see and made a post explaining that he didn't write that. Anyway, you can check the recent changes for yourself and see when it was changed. We just wanted to bring this to your attention on the off chance that someone saw it and started getting angry at Akash again, and so that you could do something about it if you feel so inclined. ;-)

Can we have a page "requests for deletion", which the admins check and remove pages no one speaks out for? For instance, all 3 Special:Lonelypages seem to be either superfluous, or plain nonsensical. Markus 07:43, 20 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Hey Elsware if my lil bro starts playing on the same wireless, are we gonna get our accounts deleted?--Stien

nah - I have a script which spots users from the same account. What I object to is "mule" accounts - ie. created just to get rusty sword you start with or to sit on a trading post and hold items. That's a bit lame.

I agree, I don't even think I am sexy. :-P --Stien 16:33, 21 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Hey Elseware! Was wondering if you would check out my D&D humor cartoon. If you look at it, tell me what you think :-P --Stien 05:36, 29 Dec 2005 (GMT)

Hey Elseware, just wanted to let you know my little bro created an account like I told you. I promise though I wont help him with items and such :-D. Thanks Elseware, talk to you later! --Stien 00:02, 30 Dec 2005 (GMT)

'King?

Out of curiosity, of what is \q'King\q an abbreviation? ("Should it please your Royal Highness", he quickly added, bowing and scraping uneasily.) And is the Temple of Love based on a real place? It reminds me of several places my wife likes to drag me to. - Sertularian

"'King" is an abbreviation for "'king Chris", which is a phrase that most of us in thee Temple ov thee Lemur have uttered at some point, usually about the unconventional use of perl/php/shell script/dbm/mysql in one or more of the web toys that Chris has written. I should add that this is a gross calumny, and that the web toys almost always do what they were supposed to, and that we now regard the odd failure modes and performance quirks as reassuring features rather than as bugs.
Slightly less flippantly, at least Chris' web toys turn out to be fun to play, which is more than any of mine ever have (thinking of Soul Mart, Cooler Than Thou, Divine Power and the whole vCash exchange mechanism for a start). Nick 18:42, 4 Jan 2006 (GMT)

CSS extra

Any chance you could add to game.css a few utility classes, like

.square100 {
  width:100px;
  height:100px;
}

... to save all the rubbish in wiki like

| class="location" style="width:100px; height:100px; text-align: center" | Grounds

Good ${DEITY}, man. How much magic powder have you had? Darksatanic 22:40, 30 Jan 2006 (GMT)

I had a large cup of coffee at lunch. My tolerance is only currently 1-5, so that's 25AP extra. Elseware 22:42, 30 Jan 2006 (GMT)

Reading Room

Sounds great elseware. Can we have a guest reading by Crazy Cruise?

On a more serious note, how about AP-less reading, donations to the library or free reading?

...and maybe somebody could get a pair of librarians glasses...

Thnx again for all. -Eyepeel 02:03, 7 March 2006 (GMT)

I was just going to make a location. If I make a location which gives a bonus then I'd have to up the normal AP cost. Elseware 14:14, 7 March 2006 (GMT)

Sounds good. I was just getting greedy... -Eyepeel 14:46, 7 March 2006 (GMT)

I think a room close to the talisman point of a city would be nice. Easy access and abiity to trade are the two big concerns. The fish pond in Water City, perhaps? Or Gust Street in the Windy City (I don't think anything's there)? JohnnyRogers 18:23, 7 March 2006 (GMT)

Would it be possible...?

Hey there. The conversation about the stocks convinced me to ask -- I am going on a six week trip in about a week. Any way I can get the equivalent of six hard-core retreats so I don't have to look for internet in Bolivia if I don't want to? And thanks, by the way. -- Jenali 15:30, 2 April 2006 (BST)
There's always Holiday Isle -- no limbo, no limit on maxAP. This is exactly what it was designed for. Darksatanic 16:26, 2 April 2006 (BST)

I've disappeared!

So, I logged out of cities the other day, which was actually something I've never done since beginning to play weeks ago, and when I tried to log back in I discovered that I'm clearly some kind of observer-dependent quantum phenomenon! I've completely disappeared from the Cities system, and the only record of my brief existence is my listing as a Victory of the Knightly Order of Tubthumping (which, I'm ashamed to say, I was).

Did I displease Your Highness? I admit I'm not the coolest guy, but am I just that forgettable? Ye gods above, I used to be; I WAS! Ask Hbookbinder. Or Peskil; he returned my corpse. Oh, but don't believe anything bad the former says about me. I gave him a winged boot, but he revels in good-natured troublemaking.

The Snark

The snark is stuck. He's on a lava-square, surrounded by lava. So no-one can Hunt him. This makes me sad. Quest:Snark Hunt has several people reporting the same thing. Is there anything you can do? Force a re-spawn or something? Ulf 13:44, 4 August 2006 (BST)

My surroundings

My surroundings have suddenly disappeared. One day, I was exploring a rather unusual environment, reached by visiting another unusual environment, and the next day, it's all gone! Where the environment is usually displayed, nothing is displayed now! Not my square, nor me, nor any exits, nor any monsters. Nothing!

It also turns out I'm rather further North than I thought possible. Orky 16:14, 27 August 2006 (BST)

(a) Please report things like this on the bugs page, rather than here. It's more likely to be seen by other developers if Elseware isn't around.
(b) You're being really vague about where you were. The more specific you are, the easier it is to hunt down the bug.
(c) Fixed.

Darksatanic 16:18, 27 August 2006 (BST)

I reduced the size of the astral plain - it was overlapping the vaults. This stranded a couple of people We'll rescue you if you need it.

(1) Sorry, I didn't think of reporting it on the bugs page
(2) I was being intentionally vague, I couldn't find references to the Astral Plane or The Vault in the Citisopedia (possibly because the search function is still broken, but I found no references on the pages I checked), so I didn't want to spoil it all.
(3) The odd thing is, I might have gotten in the Astral Plane just due to this bug. I bought a Vault Talisman, tried it, got into the Vault, walked around a bit randomly, walked to A1, then I suddenly was in the Astral Plane, which turned out to be a more interesting environment, and then I got stuck in an, erm, non-material plane. Of course I could probably have used a talisman, but I thought it would be more useful to inform you guys about the problem.
I don't think I need any further help, unless more irregularities occur. --Orky 00:33, 28 August 2006 (BST)

Golden Condor +1

Hey, I've been recently flying the Golden Condor (what a trip!) and I felt the urge to make a better UI for the controls and such. It's coming along nicely and I wondered if you could mail me the code snippet that generates the said UI. Hope to fly in style soon :) --Bubba_the_Shy 18:40, 10 June 2007 (BST)

Thee

Out of curiosity, do you deliberately misuse "Thee" as a substitute for "The" just to troll pedants? :-) Fraggle 17:40, 5 July 2007 (BST)

Letter from the Guards to The King

Dear King Elseware,

After some recent findings and some conversations with some non-guards (followed by poking him), i have found that Guard Helmets are more of a hinder than an item of status.

I hereby request a special ability be added to the guard helmet in order to make up for the disadvantages of the guard helmet. This could be: Faster AP regain, +1 damage multiplier, or a receiving damage (preferably a faster AP regain).

It is getting harder and harder to protect your 'shrooms, expressly with the hippies citizens completing quests faster than the guards thanks to there capability to summon each other.

City Guard Qazxcv

Humble Supplication

O Mighty 'King 'Elsewhere. Boy, I f'ed up today. Is there any way you could find it in your heart to roll me back an action or two? I just Closed Vault instead of Exited Vault, to the tune of 67 blings. It was completely unintentional and it's getting hard to type from all the blood on my desk from beating my head on it. Head wounds do tend to bleed, heh. No doubt, whatever task, or quest, or penance you assign me will be carried out rapidly and meekly. Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope. --Tiltowait 14:48, 24 October 2008 (BST)
