ford_prefect

Hello, not sure if you are still looking to borrow a winged horsie or not, I am hoping to do the cities circumnavigation tomorrow but after that you are most welcome to borrow Heather for as long as you like, she is a winged horise with something like 60% to-hit ford_prefect 00:55, 9 August 2008 (BST)

PotatoEngineer

Hey, sorry I'm a bit late in getting back to you. The "Display Mana" tweak you want is pretty simple, so it'll cost about one Furious Bow, three Power Crystals, 200 Olives, 50 Pints of Milk (or slices of cheese) or something else equivalent and at least slightly fungible (I'm in need of Pizza, hence the Olives, but I have enough dough already). Where would you like the mana amount to display? Left of HP? Right of HP? Below that list? I'm not planning on rolling this one into the PotatoConsole, because it really doesn't need a configuration box, but it'll still have the auto-updater.

The Grocery Clerk tweak is a bit harder, though: for one, I can't sort items by type (Handy/Magic/Food/Drink/etc.), because there's no good way for me to find that out, short of hitting the Inventory screen, and I'm not that brave yet. On the plus side, some kind of "add everything currently in the bag to the 'put in the bag' list" command should be doable. The "limited number of items in a bag" bit is more doable, and I'd propose an interface similar to Outfitter's equipping of blings: it can bag either a certain number or all of an item, and "all" is default. The cost for either change ("add current contents to bag-list" or "only bag X items") is the same as the "display mana" script above, and the cost for both is about 1.5 times the cost of the display mana script.

And yes, I'm afraid I have gotten kinda mercenary with the script-writing. I figure it's a way to motivate me to do some scripts that I don't care about. PotatoEngineer 03:36, 15 June 2008 (BST)

Golden Condor Navigator & Vents

I'm afraid there's no data on the info.xml that declares whether you've visited the Ultimate Altar of Air. I can throw together a quick hack that checks how many paths are closed (and doesn't report if they're all open), but that would make the data a bit unreliable. PotatoEngineer 05:51, 26 July 2008 (BST)

Restarting your computer reset your GCN-GPS? Oh, I think I know what happened: Firefox didn't get a chance to write its registry to disk, and Greasemonkey data is stored in the registry. This is something I have absolutely no control over. If you're using GCN to map yourself, then you need to kill Firefox the usual way instead of just shutting down the computer. Thog

Good question. Sorry for the delay on that. I haven't forgotten you - just working on trying to come up with prizes for everyone (next time I plan prizes in advance!) I'm open to suggestions... --Thog 21:57, 31 March 2008 (BST)

Okay, so Durkon has five Empty Books waiting for you. Want to drop by the HAS trading post to pick them up? -- Thog 04:29, 29 May 2008 (BST)

Durkon

Hey, sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I just got done turning back into an Armourer. Still need some Empty Books? If so, I should be able to make them for you. Just let me know. -- Durkon 04:22, 26 May 2008 (BST)

There's a Heavenly Dragon at 5E 98N, but it's starting to get low on HP. It only has 9 signs left: Gnome / Undine / Bull / Angel / Lion / Thunderbird / Penguin / Crocodile / Earth Dragon. Alternatively, I could just open my Crushed Can of Wyrms at a specified time and place. I doubt a Polychromatic would last very long near the Festival! -Scrumbucket 12:54, 15 August 2008 (BST)

Old Stuff (Put New Stuff Above Here Please)

Phw

I'm happy to make the armour and cod pieces. We'll need to organise a time to meet at a trading post. Payment may either be in cash or materials (bits of metal is always good - iron for preference at the moment but anything is welcome. Lead is worth a lot less to me though as I have plenty of that). About 4gp/bit is a good guess, and about 1000gp / leather. So somewhere in the vicinity of 1500 bits of metal is good.

For the book, paper is always needed. Did you want to pay cash only or a cash/material mix. Paper is always useful to an armourer (I'm working on paper mache armour! It'll be ... useless, but fun!). Phw 23:02, 6 October 2007 (BST)

OK - Leather armour is 54 leather, Recipe book is 1 leather and 50 pieces of paper. Checking your inventory, you have enough leather for everything and 94 pieces of paper. The cost in gold with materials is 14k + 4k/cod piece. I'm happy to take 1500 bits of iron (@4gp each - 6k), 40 pieces of paper (@50gp each - 2k), 40 Carbon (@15gp each - 600), 700 bits of silver (@15gp each - 10500) or bits of gold on a 1/1 basis to make up the final cost. Happy to mix and match quantities up to the limits above... I'm at the current party so the park bench is a good place to trade. Let me know - I have the AP to do all the work on the spot. Stelio

Since you ask, I prefer the fashion icons to be centrally aligned. Of course I'm somewhat biased since I did the original nice formatting for that page myself. :-)
But yeah, I reckon it looks a bit blocky when they're all lined up, which is slightly countered by offsetting 2-fashion items by half an icon's width. I am open-minded, though: what are your thoughts and counterarguments? -Stelio 09:05, 22 August 2007 (BST)

Was looking through the heal menu at the Harvest Festival and noticed that Demoter doesn't strip Wizards of their titles. Guess there weren't any when the script was written? -Scrumbucket 20:57, 23 September 2007 (BST)

All fixed. Go redownload it.--Hamelin 21:36, 23 September 2007 (BST)

Syagrius

Yes, the bookbag is missing 3 books. I loaned you my copy of Methusalah's Children. If you come across copies of Farnham's Freehold and Time Enough for Love, I'd really appreciate borrowing them from you to read - they're the last 2 I need to read to finish the quest. Syagrius 20:43, 7 May 2006 (BST)

Let's see - you need a glass sword. I've got a few of em, and several spades (for mining). I imagine you'll want one of each ;) What are you offering in trade? Syagrius 15:16, 11 May 2006 (BST)
Let me guess. You used one as a weapon, didn't ya? What animal did you get? Um... anyway - for the glass sword, maybe a pair of daemonic letter openers? I have yet to find those, and I kill just about everything I come across. Syagrius 18:22, 11 May 2006 (BST)
Yep, I've actually got 12 of em. I'll pull 4 out for ya. Syagrius 19:19, 11 May 2006 (BST)
Only received 1 letter opener - forget to put in a quantity, or did one vanish on us? Syagrius 01:48, 12 May 2006 (BST)
Cool cool - no worries. Just wanted to be sure we didn't have to file a bug report ;) Thanks! Syagrius 02:26, 12 May 2006 (BST)
  • Re: books. I have enough paper to make 3 books. I haven't traded any books in quite a while - what would be a fair trade for you? Syagrius 20:44, 26 May 2008 (BST)
I'll have to locate some more paper. 3 books are ready. Syagrius 15:18, 29 May 2008 (BST)
Incidentally, that's the amount of paper I'm short to make your 4th book. As far as where to meet - you can summon me at your convenience. Fair trade... What's 200AP worth to you? Catanas would be pretty cool - I can see about getting them properly aligned :) Syagrius 04:49, 30 May 2008 (BST)
See, that's where I get fuzzy. I really have no idea what they're worth. Gold piece conversions don't work for me, since I have plenty of gold and I rarely buy weaponry. I don't fight ninjas. 5? 10? If you can align, half earth, half fire? I dunno. My wife says I sell myself short all the time... Syagrius 04:57, 30 May 2008 (BST)
Thank you kindly. You have 4 new books, and your summon stone returned. Let me know if I can be of any further service. Syagrius 02:32, 31 May 2008 (BST)

Cities White

I get the same effect when reading the Wiki on my laptop from work. The first few times it looks normal, then all backgrounds go white. Can't speak to the game, as I can't play it from work. When I take my laptop home, the backgrounds come back. My guess is that it's not the PC, it's something about the firewall or internet thingummy that blocks background images somehow. -- Sertularian 20:59, 1 May 2006 (BST)

This is possible, it might be this NetZero my grandma uses to get online. Only thing is that two weeks ago when I was here playing Cities it looked fine.--Hamelin 21:11, 1 May 2006 (BST)
Cities looks fine to me right now. I've seen the white in the wiki before, but only once while I was fighting with my wireless router. Syagrius 21:20, 1 May 2006 (BST)
I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with Cities, but with the client network connection. As I say, I see this all the time at work, but never from home, even on the same PC. -- Sertularian 21:24, 1 May 2006 (BST)
I figured it out, my aunt had enabled high contrast mode in the accessibility options in windows. That's what did it.--Hamelin 22:23, 1 May 2006 (BST)

Standing Stones

Congratulations on completing the Standing Stones. Did your grandma keep you up all night for it?  ;) -- Sertularian 16:41, 2 May 2006 (BST)

Naw, I did all of the kill you in the brain stones while I was still at my dorm a week or two ago, I did like 6 in the last two days and downed enough coffee to have barely enough ap to finish my last one at 8 AM EST. My tolerance is way down, I'll get 10 AP from the next coffee I drink.--Hamelin 17:19, 2 May 2006 (BST)

Wooly Hat

I won't be able to keep my wooly hat much longer, anyway, so I'd be willing to let you have it. I'm leaving now today, but I'll be back tomorrow around 1 PM game time. Hope I still have it then. Hendsch 21:58, 3 May 2006 (BST)

I'm back, still have the hat. Sure, I can talisman into Fire city. I've just been wandering around the desert killing stuff, so I can go at any time. Just let me know when you're ready to grab it and I'll use a talisman. I can't do IRC or AIM, sorry. Hendsch 13:02, 4 May 2006 (BST)
Oops, you there? Hendsch 16:41, 4 May 2006 (BST)
It was very useful! Thanks Hendsch.--Hamelin 04:29, 7 May 2006 (BST)

Eel

Were you still looking for an Eel? I'd be willing to trade a Lion Fish for it -- Thog 20:42, 4 May 2006 (BST)

Ah, no, sorry. I forgot to remove that from the trading page.--Hamelin 00:02, 5 May 2006 (BST)

Bag O Books

Sure thing; stop by whenever, I'll probably still be here. Sickle to sharpen and all... -- Celane 00:15, 7 May 2006 (BST)

Billz8

Wanna Wagga? I'm at the Park Bench. Any goodies to trade? Billz8 04:27, 18 May 2006 (BST)

Afraid I'm busy killing Phoenix(s) in the interior with my brother. I'll get back to you if I still want it later.--Hamelin 04:52, 18 May 2006 (BST)

Celane

Sure thing, although it may be a while before I'm back in civilization. Could you knit my jumper and gloves for me, then? I already have the balls of wool, thanks to Conzy. -- Celane 18:21, 8 June 2006 (BST)

Hey, thanks for your consideration! :) But my computer is in pieces at the moment, so my online access is unscheduled at best. Hope you are getting / got through the Caverns in one piece! -- Celane 07:42, 13 June 2006 (BST)

Re. the Balrog: Hey, you *can* get by (at least I did). You were on the right track with the Gandalf comment... -- Celane 23:20, 18 July 2006 (BST)

Glad ya got it. ;) -- Celane 15:43, 19 July 2006 (BST)
