Just a quick note. :-D When it says "Water 2AP" on the Long String construction chart (for example) that means that it's a Water skill, and takes a base of 2AP to perform for someone who is Water-aligned. And by implication, that this is then 6AP for Air or Earth, and 10AP for Fire. So I've removed the "Earth 6AP" that you added as it's surplus to requirements. See Making Stuff for more information. But thanks for adding to the wiki! Do please keep it up. :-) -Stelio 22:18, 11 February 2007 (GMT)

Actually, looking back I see you've added "Earth #AP" to a variety of pages. Presumably this is meant to be the total AP required by someone of that alignment to make the object. This is useful information (and appears on the more common and complex items such as Cucumber Sandwich). It is also straightforward to calculate the equivalents for the other alignments too. It may be worth adding this info to other pages, but it's probably overkill to add it for everything (particular one- or two-stage constructions since they are so simple). What do you think? -Stelio 22:24, 11 February 2007 (GMT)
For me, it was a little surprise to figure out (I hadn't seen any info on comparative costs in manufacting based on alignment) that it was 50AP to bake a loaf of bread. When browsing the Wiki to figure out how to make the sandwiches etc, it would be useful for newbies to see a 'by alignment' cost for each step so they know to get help / be at a party / give up in disgust :)
Yes, that's a good point and I agree with you. I shall have a think about how best to write this up for the Wiki. Hmmm... -Stelio 23:53, 12 February 2007 (GMT)

Smaug does indeed have a breath weapon, she just doesn't get to maxAP very often. --naath 10:00, 23 February 2009 (GMT)

I would be happy to take your decaff.. can i give you a few healing potion in return ? I will be on the pentacle between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm (at the least) just let me know on my talk page .. thanks man.

ok cool, i'm at the pentacle now, I'll be here for a bit - but have to step away RL. I'll check periodically. tx again.

Your advertising efforts have paid off! I'd like to order a Teleport Kit, a Ticket Office Kit, and an Iron Maiden from you. As I understand it, it's 70,000GP, 200 wood, 100 stones, 5 power crystals, and 5000 iron for materials, plus 115,000GP for crafting. I have the gold if you prefer that, but I also have 144 leather, 7 misril/21 copper/27 lead ore, and a rather staggering number of rainbow blades if you're interested. PotatoEngineer 20:45, 20 October 2007 (BST)

Yes, I'm definitely still interested. If I'm reading you right, then the total payment is 135,000GP, 200 wood, 100 stones, 5 power crystals, 5000 iron, and 50 leather. I'm at the pentacle in earth city at the moment, and will be there for ~10 hours, then I'm headed off to the Trail of Trials, which will probably take longer than expected. (I suspect I may be stuck there for about a day if it goes poorly, or I'll finish in about an hour if it goes well.) I'm on IRC as PotatoEngineer if you find me in the Cities channel; otherwise, drop by the pentacle in earth city, and I'll load you down with stuff, which you can return whenever you manage to finish crafting it; I expect to return to the pentacle once I'm done with a run through the ToT. PotatoEngineer 06:26, 24 October 2007 (BST)
Scads upon scads of materials given! PotatoEngineer 08:35, 24 October 2007 (BST)

Re: Your brai---er, I mean, PotatoConsole: if you like having certain scripts out of the console, you can move each individual script wherever you want it: under the Abilities box, on top of the Equipment box, under Preferences, under the map.... pick yer poison. Anything not in the console is not collapsed. I originally thought of the console as a space-saving measure, not an organization measure. I'll include an option to keep the console open in the next release, though. PotatoEngineer 22:38, 13 November 2007 (GMT)

Excellent! I care not in the least if the goldfish is trained, as I will be disposing of him once he's gotten me a license. I'll be happy if you can just feed him and hand him over to me after 8 weeks. So, what would you like? I'm a Wizard, so I can supply you with Sword2s, Time Warps, Eye-Pods stuffed with Sod spells (though I'm limited to the number of scrolls I have on that particular score), Silver Puzzle Boxes, Spirit Catchers, or even MOTDs. Or I could pay you in more pedestrian items like gold, gorgan heads, vorpals, rainbow blades, and the like. Make me an offer! PotatoEngineer 18:33, 19 April 2008 (BST)

The problem with Sods is that they're not tradeable. The only way I can get you Sods is by loading them onto an Eye Pod, and you play the spells in the Pod. Each loading of a Sod takes a copy of the spell and 10AP, so you can only get as many Sods as I have copies of the spell, which is 11. (It also takes the mana cost squared to load it onto the Eye Pod, but since each elemental ball normally takes 2, it's only 4 to load it onto the pod; not too bad.) I'd be willing to load 11 Sods (plus, say, another 10 or so if you have some Sod Spells yourself), but I can't do 40 or 50 of 'em. In theory, I could get you a Smite spell (100 damage multiplier for 1AP), but that would cost a nice, cool 900 mana to load onto an Eye Pod. I could also do a combination of Sods plus any other element; I have scads of Zephyr, Fire-Ball, and Water Bomb spells (the other elemental balls). PotatoEngineer 19:16, 20 April 2008 (BST)
That works for me. I'm parked at the New Trading Post in Fire City (the one that's just SW of the shrine), so drop by, and I'll get you a fish egg and take your sod spells off your hands. We can do the full-Eye-Pod and grown-fish swap later, I guess. PotatoEngineer 00:19, 21 April 2008 (BST)
All right! You should have your Goldfish Egg and Sod-stuffed Eye Pod. And, um, hallucinations. But magic 'shrooms aside, I'm looking forward to that eventual Goldfish! PotatoEngineer 05:08, 21 April 2008 (BST)
I'm currently parked at the New Trading Post in Windy City whenever you'd like to drop off that Goldfish. PotatoEngineer 04:45, 17 June 2008 (BST)

Outfitter Update

Yow, I'm late to responding here. At any rate, the functionality you want is already in Outfitter; just look for that checkbox that says "Only unequip items if space is needed," and set it when you don't want to unequip things. So if you just want to change to a different set of pets, then Outfitter will look at the "pets" slot, see that it can't equip both your current pets and the pets you desire equipped, and will empty the pets slot before equipping your new pets. But it won't unequip anything else.

On a side note, if you're equipping an outfit that can be worn with your current clothing (without unequipping anything), then Outfitter won't unequip anything. But this only applies if you have that "Only equip items if space is needed" checkbox checked. If it's unchecked, then Outfitter does its usual thing, which is to unequip everything before equipping stuff. (With certain exceptions like lanterns, if you've set the relevant config checkboxes.) PotatoEngineer 03:19, 15 June 2008 (BST)

Just a secondary thought here: to use the script like I mentioned above, you should have one outfit per pet-configuration you want, and you should always have the "only unequip items if space is needed" checkbox on when you equip those particular outfits. Depending on how you set up the rest of your outfits (and whether you have the "don't unequip pets" checkbox checked), you may need to re-equip your pets after changing your (non-pet) outfits. You'll probably want to look at (and possibly twiddle) the "only unequip items if space is needed" checkbox every time you change outfits, and doubly so if you use outfits to manage your fashions (most "fashion" outfits should probably be equipped with that "only unequip..." checkbox unchecked, to eliminate any fashion from the other stuff you were wearing). PotatoEngineer 22:44, 17 June 2008 (BST)

I'd like to buy a full set of leather armour from you, as well as a few cod pieces. I have all the leather required and a good bit of spare metals as well.--Hamelin 07:45, 6 October 2007 (BST) Oh, and a recipe book--Hamelin 07:46, 6 October 2007 (BST)

I'm trying ti catch the Gorgan at the moment, but look at my Inventory, I'll trade any of the spare metals/paper I have, I don't really have any use for them. Actually, I don't need the Army boots with the leather outfit, since I'm only getting the leathers for the kinky fashion while I hunt RockyHorrors. Give me a fair quote on my talk page with what you want, and after I find the Gorgan (or give up) I'll get a hold of you.--Hamelin 23:18, 6 October 2007 (BST)
Alright, I'm available now, I'd like to pay you in materials or a material/gold combo if it's alright.--Hamelin 06:11, 9 October 2007 (BST)

Doc Mackie

So, what's your asking price? 10:01, 22 April 2007 (BST)

Ummm... now that you ask I have no idea... I'd love potions of accuracy / fixings for such
Heh. Just can't PAYG me or use my discussion page, oh no, I gots to come hunting. Okay, okay, I'll go fish. 20:11, 22 April 2007 (BST)
Addendum: Currently have 21 flying fish, more vials than you can shake a stick at, 5 seaweed fronds, 7 baskets of crushed plums, and 136 mugs of ale. Obviously there's a weak link somewhere in this process. I blame the seaweed fronds. Edit: Also 23 fags. 20:20, 22 April 2007 (BST)
About how many potions do you need? I'll try to get more plums going soon. 22:03, 22 April 2007 (BST)
Edit: For ease, would you take a clinic invite instead? 03:00, 23 April 2007 (BST)
90k for Invite, 11999 (12k) for plums. How's 7 baskets of crushed plums (84k) plus 10k toward another basket of plums? Doc Mackie 04:38, 24 April 2007 (BST)
Hellow? 08:33, 27 April 2007 (BST)
So 7 baskets of crushed plums (you go to war with the plums you have) and 30k gold? 07:15, 30 April 2007 (BST)
If you mean the party at Fire City, there's a trading post three steps east of it. I vote we go there. 18:32, 30 April 2007 (BST)
I'll be there when you arrive. 04:30, 1 May 2007 (BST)

Bound Bull Whips

Five bound bull whips, no spirit catchers just now. Those five were enough to take one down, with the help of a Big Kat. (It kept stealing them! As you can see, though, I got them back.) S. Mackie 03:01, 25 December 2007 (GMT)

Done and done. Swing by the Pentacle for your shipment of Whips, or if the pentacle goes away before you get there (unlikely) I'll meet you at the Water City Swap Shop. 06:23, 25 December 2007 (GMT)
Sent. If I'm away for a moment and you can't catch up with me for payment, just bug me later. 18:15, 26 December 2007 (GMT)

I don't have a huge need for herbs per se, just a couple specific ones, including the ginger. I wouldn't mind trading some around with you however. Let me know what you need, chances are I have some. -- X-Himy 14:28, 28 March 2007 (BST)

I´m on long retreat now. Thanks for summoning me back. If you want some payment, have a look at my inventory or say how much money will be sufficient. I´ll be back on Monday evening or Tuesday. Have a nice weekend. - wfpsy

Hey, I left a PAYG for you a while back after you put in your custom order for a Misril Bling on the Hammered Anvil page. Did you miss it, did your response get eaten by a server reset, or did you get the bling from someone else? -- Durkon 21:08, 12 April 2007 (BST)

Sorry Durkon - was looking for some Mana to give you. Was going to head to R'lyeh to get myself a machine and then get back to you... Phw 22:03, 12 April 2007 (BST)
Turns out mana is not tradeable anyway... vloodo 04:59, 13 April 2007 (BST)
No worries. I'm pretty much a fixture at the party for the next week or so while I do some weaponsmithing, so just let me know when you're in the area, Phw, and we can hook you up with a Misril Bling. -- Durkon 05:10, 13 April 2007 (BST)
So I realize things got dropped a bit in all the cabinetry chaos, but did you still want the bling? If so, and you're going to be near the party this week, let me know - I'm heading over to the Old Trading Post several times a day, and can meet you to trade gold and misril for a misril bling. Presuming you are interested, how's 2000 bits of gold and the bit of misril sound? (i.e. 1000 bits for the bling - the rest essentially comes back with the Misril Bling) -- Durkon 03:23, 19 April 2007 (BST)
Done and Done. I only have 1400 on me but the rest can be gotten easily enough (unless you'd prefer actual cash...) Phw 03:27, 19 April 2007 (BST)
Sounds good. I'm at the Old Trading Post in Fire City (2E 96N) right now, and probably will be for the next half hour or so. If that doesn't work, give me a yell on my talk page and we can set up a time (I'm on EDT, so I'll be most likely to be around after 10 PM game time, but I can jump in briefly before that, presuming I'm not in AP debt :-)) -- Durkon 13:44, 19 April 2007 (BST)

The amount offered is really enough. No need to chip in extra 15K gold. I'm at the party and so the next trading post would be Stocks at 3E 92N. Just tell me when you have time and I'll come. Please bear in mind that I'm rather close to game time thus asking for a meeting before 9am will have no chance of success ;)

I was just looking at the versions of Don't Break it on the development page and I can't figure out which one to download to get the gold bling update. Which is it? :) -- Rhapsodie 03:01, 7 March 2009 (GMT)

Yes please re: Magnesium Glyph. What did you want for it? (If you can drop it in the Shed I'll come pick it up and drop off payment!) -- Rhapsodie 05:06, 17 May 2009 (BST)

If you can please summon me to a trading post, or I could find one and summon you although I'm currently out of AP. king1216 02:56, 29 June 2007 (BST) Ok I'm back from my rather long vacation, when can we meet up and get my winged horsie back? king1216 04:07, 15 July 2007 (BST)

I see you're on-line right now and are commenting about Glendale. How exactly does one sign up for it? I've installed the js but the website gives no further instructions. Now I receive the message, "Glendale cannot determine your failure" constantly. :-) -Stelio 11:24, 22 July 2007 (BST)

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. This is the only machine I've used for Glendale. I've got the security tokens already set up in my about:config - the Glendale GreaseMonkey script did that automatically. And both my characters have innate GPS. As I understood it, it should just work. Hmmm. I'll try e-mailing Sam. Thanks! -Stelio 12:05, 22 July 2007 (BST)

That sounds fun! We can find out if our respective mounts 'fit'. :-) I'll be there in the morning as I've only checked the Wiki after using up all of my AP tonight (foolish of me). -Stelio 23:24, 28 November 2007 (GMT)

Hey there, care to petsit my goldfish for 2 weeks (15 Sep - 30 Sep)?? --Bubba_the_Shy 23:38, 27 August 2007 (BST)

Hey, I'm currently at the Trading Post just East of the party. Is it possible for you to look after my newly gained Obsession (with Golfers) as well? Deep down, we all have a blind hatred against Golfers. --Bubba_the_Shy 16:37, 14 September 2007 (BST)
Done. I'm afraid I don't have any (tradable) food for Fat Lip thou. However, I'm fairly confident that I shall be able to compensate afterwards! --Bubba_the_Shy 22:38, 14 September 2007 (BST)
Hey again, back from a lovely vacation and all. Ready to trade at any moment. --Bubba_the_Shy 12:58, 25 September 2007 (BST)
Alright, I'm at the Trading Post right now. And err, what would you like as compensation? --Bubba_the_Shy 16:04, 25 September 2007 (BST)

Generally, you don't tell -- you put them together and see if they want to breed. :)

Also, I'm currently recovering from a slight case of death on the mountain path. I may be a couple of days getting my horsie back from the Tripod that got me. Darksatanic 11:03, 24 September 2007 (BST)
flt recovered by body for me, so I'll be back in Oz Real Soon Now™. Darksatanic 13:46, 24 September 2007 (BST)

I've not been keeping up with bookbag requests - does aeroman still want one? I'm around near the party/pentacle at the moment. - jmb 18:15, 8 October 2007 (BST)

Hello! I'm back in town and back in the game and happy to pick up the pets wherever you wish. harvestbird 05:46, 17 October 2007 (BST)

Thank you! I'm currently one square west of the free party. harvestbird 07:23, 17 October 2007 (BST)

Ok, I'm stacking up on issues as I speak. Feel free to summon me to a trading post whenever that hole burns too deep--Solune 09:36, 24 March 2008 (GMT)
Hi, my supply of issues has gotten under a week. Would you like to get your obsession back ?--Solune 20:26, 12 April 2008 (BST)

Ta for the congrats! It's nice to (finally) enter the world of pwny/horsie ownership. If Hastur ends up being a boy I might try something possibly a little sick and breed him with his mum...

I'm sure you'll provide a good home for Glw. And being put out to stud with Rhapsodie to boot? That's to good an offer to pass up. I'll watch for you at the Trading Post NE of the party. I check in most weekdays around Noon and 10:30 PM Cities time, among others. -- Sertularian 01:24, 5 June 2008 (BST)

I'm told you should have Glw now.  :) -- Sertularian 12:14, 5 June 2008 (BST)
