Experimental changes to the interface.

There's a link in the MOTD box to a new interface. I like the new inventory box thing, but it seems to be kind of laggy, has to load the list of items every time you click on a category.

What do you you guys make of it?--LimeHan 21:02, 24 September 2008 (BST)

Very nice, but I wish it had an optional command line interface for inventory. Must faster than clicking... for some. For others, the links are clearly better. S. Mackie 05:30, 25 September 2008 (BST)

...Basically I want to move over people who don't mind being moved over. Some people will hate it, so I'll keep the old interface too. I like the command line idea, please give some more info on the New Interface page...

WTF is a Bacon Fish?

Make a Bacon Fish from 3 Slices of Bacon (Water 15 AP, Earth 9 AP)

I made one and it doesn't appear to do anything. Doesn't even have a box in the sidebar.--LimeHan 20:24, 7 September 2008 (BST)

A fish made of bacon would be the Most Awesome Fish Ever. Unless you added whisky. Then it would be better than the most awesomest. --Scary Mike 13:04, 8 Septembe 2008 (EST)r

Dissapointed?

I suddenly noticed that i have a grey bar below my kudos level that says dissapointed. I am in the midst of the tubes quest and due to non cities life i am taking some time with it. does anyone think that has to do with it? (edit: it helps to sign these things)Sheyona 19:10, 6 September 2008 (BST)

This is not a quest mechanic. Perhaps check your history. There should have been a message explaining why..... Elseware
Me too... GrumpyNick has disappointed me, apparently. Somewhat hugely... [1] Stoo 00:13, 7 September 2008 (BST)

Pets auto eat?

I got this message today when I switched equipment.

You lose a Measure of Serenity. You lose a Measure of Serenity. You lose a Measure of Serenity. You lose an Issue. You lose a Measure of Serenity. Now using Tarot Deck.

It happened a few days ago taking my kudos. Do pets now automatically eat when hungry? This never happened to me the last time they were alive. Billwopeh 20:01, 1 September 2008 (BST)

Yes, pets now autofeed when they get down to starving (25%). This is relatively new and there have been a few bugs with it (which also resulted in the Great Pet Resurrection you got a palantir about), although it seems to be working now. Autofeeding takes pet AP and you can't choose what gets eaten, so you're better off feeding them before they get that low. --Dragon 20:45, 1 September 2008 (BST)
does this autofeeding include horsies grazing on pasture, or does it have to be a consumable item from your inventory? Supergumby 23:55, 2 September 2008 (BST)
It would've been nice if the fact that they now auto eat was palantired to us.
Given the total chaos of the Rampage and the Resurrection, it was really kinda hard to miss - Thog 00:49, 7 September 2008 (BST)
Well if someone kept their pets fed normally, they would never notice the rampage, and the resurrection could honestly be mistaken for a real error by someone who didn't know. Kaos Dragon 00:51, 7 September 2008 (BST)

Brand Identity?

I just killed a Dolphin and got a 'Brand Identity'. WTF?

It's to do with the University of Southampton changing their logo. Andrewsi 12:38, 29 August 2008 (BST)
Of course it is! Why ever didn't I think if that? Er... so... what do I do with it?10X 15:37, 29 August 2008 (BST)
You can sell it to the Communications Office at the University for 5000 Gold. It might be useful for something else, but I've no idea what. Andrewsi 15:42, 29 August 2008 (BST)

Pimps Cruising the Strip

As a result of the fashion parade, taste and fashion sense have dropped markedly. Watch out for Duke Anoki MD and his posse cruising the streets of our four cities in his less than tasteful pimpmobile.

Nothing

So, I was heading up to the catacombs from fire city, when I discovered I couldn't go through the Rurals. Because the whole row of 100N is missing. So, I head back to fire city to do further investigations. 100N still missing. Magic map shows the Rurals just beyond a void 1 square wide. Magic map also shows me a void to the west starting at -1 (1w). This one is wider than just one square though. I convince Betty to bust a dojo talisman for SCIENCE!. She does, lands on the dojo just fine. Heads east. hits the other edge of the Nothing, which is now determined to run from -5 to -1. Checks the Magic map, sees that harveys farm is still there. Harveys farm does bridge the Nothing entirely, and can be used as a bridge. I'm sure this is all due to 'fiddling, but maybe the GLs will use this 'accident' to introduce some neverending story quests or something. --BortJr 07:07, 16 August 2008 (BST)

Well, the Western "nothing" has disappeared and been replaced with terrain that so far mostly resembles what was there before. Except there is a liberal sprinkling of lakes, ruins, alchemists, wizards towers, guard towers, wells... I suspect there is something more than this somewhere, I just haven't found it yet. - Cthu1hu 10:31, 16 August 2008 (BST)

One for the Mages: Familiars now drop from Witches!

Smoke

Several squares in the interior around 33E 33N are currently Smoke. I went west from there, not east - might the smoke be coming from The Vents? parking_god 17:21, 14 August 2008 (BST)

Portal to Brighthelm

The 'King has built a two-way portal from 16E 3N near the main festival activities to the end of the Brighthelm Pier so people can get to and from the Sculpture by the Sea show easily. So now there's no excuse not to use plinths there! :)

Check it out - it's cool! Rhapsodie 13:26, 10 August 2008 (BST)

Royal Race Around the World

I saw some interesting sights while I was running around today. Does anyone know anything about Caroline's Island and/or a/The Thunderchild far out at sea? (I'm aware of the one that seems to be docked at Brighthelm.) I would have loved to investigate, but I invested way too much AP in the race to get side-tracked. :/

I'm also extremely curious as to what route the other racers took. I won't post my route yet out of respect for those who are still running, but I would be interested in comparing notes at some point. -Scrumbucket 13:55, 9 August 2008 (BST)

I went south down the west side of the map (probably didn't go farther east than 15E or so), stayed to the water as much as possible with my airship. Thing wore out just as I hit the Crill Sea and since I didn't have a horsie, I was stuck using my Survey Vessel most of the rest of the way (and the damn thing broke before I got to the Frozen South! I was freaking out but fortunately I could make the nails I needed after checking my inventoyu. I didn't see anything too odd, I happened to pass by XXXXXXXXXX on his speedboat in the Northern Ocean and nicked his wizard's hat (which I promptly took to the pentacle once I got back, he he he) and I dug up a treasure chest I had a map for on the way down the Great North Road. I probably spent way too much AP, but I've got so much I don't really mind.--LimeHan 22:27, 9 August 2008 (BST)
I headed North from Air City on a speeder bike, taking the Western gap in the Rurals. Imps got in my way several times. Past Bognor I rode Bill my trusty Sea Horsie whilst high on magic herb. Across the frozen South (and very tip of the North) I used Invisibility Spells combined with the speeder bike to zoom straight to the shore. And then it was back onto Bill, high on herb, and holding a Clock of Invisibility, still had to firecracker the plankton, speeder-biked over Oz and then back onto Bill and the herb to swim up to the South Coast (I missed all the islands incidentally) before speeder biking across the desert. I went too far East in the Plankton and had to go West to pass the Andes but appeared back in the 'kingdom with only a few steps West needed. My speeder bike wore out just as I finished needing it. --naath 13:11, 10 August 2008 (BST)
I took the Eastern route, starting just south of the Crystal Cave and heading North. After I jogged over to the eastern gap in the Rurals, I hardly budged from the 80-83E corridor for the entire trip. I only moved west when I ran into the Hexed Ocean, which I had completely neglected to take into account when planning my route. I couldn't afford a speeder bike even with the hat I had stolen, so I just Button-Mashered along the roads, threw on winged boots and the One Bling for the wilds, and crossed the ocean on my trusty speedboat with the wind at my back. And of course at the end, I neglected to pay attention to the location of the finish line and spent several minutes trying to figure out what went wrong. Final analysis: I hate Plankton! -Scrumbucket 20:30, 10 August 2008 (BST)

Music Video Competition

Entries are now sought for the Music Video Competition. With fabulous prizes (we hope). Schnorrer 08:53, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Lost or Stolen?

Just before retiring from the stage (that I ultimately couldn't keep away from - cursed fame) I had the humidor won fair and square by the The Vaudeville Guild (see Here) passed to Cor on loan for his collection - in accordance with the wishes of 10X - but it seems to be lost. Anyone seen our humidor? We'd like to see it passed on to the winner of the Music Video Competition - it just made so much sense. Schnorrer 08:53, 9 August 2008 (BST)

The Humidor is currently in my possession (which I safeguarded while you were on hiatus). I'd be happy to give it back, right after 5 Sep (salvation day). --Bubba_the_Shy 12:41, 14 August 2008 (BST)
Cool. I didn't give it to you to look after did I - if so sorry for not remembering - must be senior citiezens disease. Happy salvation day. Schnorrer 14:40, 14 August 2008 (BST)

Unicorn

A few players have noted getting odd messages about a unicorn. Might as well post em here:

Unicorn touches you with its horn. You feel a little purer.

My kudos didn't appear to change. - Heyus2 07:12, 9 August 2008 (BST)

From the Pentacle:

Unicorn says 'blasts you with a ray of pure happiness!'

Statuesque Beauties and Magnificent Erections Sculpture Show now open!

Come past the pentacle near the Royal Palace to collect your Plinths - and while you're there, admire all of the other events that are on (probably not in that order - plinths are being handed out when I see the requests, which means that you will probably need to park there for a while before your request is filled)! -- the Muse of Sculpture 02:14, 9 August 2008 (BST)

Ruthven's experiment

Just after festival commencement, Santa was out early (due to a "whim" of the Great Lords) and those of you with nimble fingers may have been able to steal a present from him:

Present: One of Ruthven's experiments went horribly wrong... and some of it's in
this package. It looks horrible... but smells delicious.
You lose a Present.
You close your eyes and swallow... yum!
Now using Fists.

Mmmm, AP-flavoured! Rhapsodie 00:40, 9 August 2008 (BST)

They merge with and replace previous presents. Are you given an option as with the previous presents? Is it random or is it AP only? --TheRealKilgore 01:05, 9 August 2008 (BST)
Not random. AP only - 250-odd. Not sure if it takes you over your maximum. This present was as a result of an "oops". Rhapsodie 01:27, 9 August 2008 (BST)
Not random and only 250 AP? That is unfortunate for those of who had present(s) from before. The old presents gave over 1000 AP (not to mention the other choices.) It wouldn't be bad if it didn't replace the old presents. Any chance this "oops" will be fixed? --TheRealKilgore 01:31, 9 August 2008 (BST)
Then I'm not touching mine - no way I'm giving up "see monster health" Syagrius 01:49, 9 August 2008 (BST)
If you already opened an old present you're fine. You won't lose what you already have. If you have any unopened presents you will not be able to choose "see monster health" if you planned on doing so. --TheRealKilgore 02:27, 9 August 2008 (BST)
