Guild now open - but will need to recover some AP before I can admit members. The Vaudeville Guild Schnorrer 21:09, 23 August 2007 (BST)

Party Hosting

Hey Bubba, Deva came to me telling me that her birthday is the 27th of this month, and was wondering if she could have that week for the party. Now I'm gonna give it to her, but this is not the reason I am palantir'in you. Before I jump down to the bottom of the que I was wondering if you would voluntarily move down to allow me to be the following week. From April 9 - 16 to April 16 - 23. Let me know either on the free party talk page or by palantir or both. -Stien 17:44, 14 March 2007 (GMT)

In case you didn't notice, the April Fools' Party ended a little early (had to start early because someone set off a time warp at the last one, ending it prematurely). I'd say you can start yours whenever you're ready... -- Thog 22:29, 8 April 2007 (BST)

I will clean my public notes from the Glendale mapper if you wish, but I put them publicly as a matter of historical record. -- X-Himy 19:43, 27 December 2006 (GMT)

Yes, I'm still after that CD. Sorry about the delay, I have two player accounts but only one on the wiki. In the future use Billz8's talk page to contact either of us. Back to business, what would you like for that CD? Check either of our inventories. Billz8 01:31, 5 December 2006 (GMT)

Done and done.

Nope. Still don't know who that was. macksting 20:02, 5 November 2006 (GMT)

Trading Herbs, 05:46, 12 December 2006 (GMT)

Sounds great! Been looking for those. Feel free to summon me; I'll try to transfer the stuff as promptly as I can. macksting 05:46, 12 December 2006 (GMT)

I'm sorry, I must've made a deal and forgotten all about it. Can you refresh me on what I've been neglecting? Every time I see a message to respond to, you're logged out! 08:43, 6 March 2008 (GMT)

Sonuva... Yeah. Forgot about that. Tell ya what, maybe after term's over. I've got finals and homework and a cat who's having seizures (how's that for stress! Poor kitty...) and debts to pay off because my wife needed a root canal. It's all a bit much, right now, and my favorite games are pretty antisocial lately.
I'm very tightly wound, and while I can reasonably unwind from a certain point in multiplayer, after that, I must remain pretty autonomous or I'll go insane. Catch me after my autonomous streak's over, when I've unwound enough to be useful to other people. 17:19, 6 March 2008 (GMT)

Ah, you noticed?

Yeah, I was rather proud of that hyperlink idea.
Update: Cat's okay, just on medication for good. 07:03, 1 June 2008 (BST)

Curious. Somehow I must've thought you'd asked about our cat at some point. Not sure where that came from, now, as I'm not sure you ever knew we had one, much less one with epilepsy. Anyway, ignore that update, it may have been intended for somebody else's Talk page anyway. 23:02, 2 June 2008 (BST)

Do you still need the basket of plums from the trading page? If so, I have some, and would be willing to trade. I'm interested in your wombat spell and bits of iron. I also have a copy of Stranger in a Strange Land you can borrow, and can summon you to Oz if you'd like. Syagrius 01:58, 27 October 2006 (BST)

No worries - I was perusing the trading post page and figured I could help out if it was for something important :) Syagrius 03:17, 28 October 2006 (BST)
  • Well, it depends on what you need formatted. I'm decent at this stuff, but by far, not the best. The sandbox is a useful place to test stuff out. :) Syagrius 20:09, 17 February 2007 (GMT)
Check the sandbox - I think I found a workable solution. Syagrius 03:45, 25 February 2007 (GMT)

Okay, you've got my curiosity piqued. What's up? I'm on IRC most evenings (US EDT) as Thog - can't log on during the day due to a firewall... -- Elan 03:32, 7 June 2007 (BST)

Hi Bubba the (allegedly) shy, I'm in Oz at OzFest right now so the Park Bench is a little inconvenient for me. Would you like to visit OzFest? Because I could make that happen.  :) I have all of the books. I would be happy to let you borrow them, although they're on loan just now. I would be very interested in your Records and your Wand of Convincing Illusion. -- Sertularian 21:48, 8 October 2006 (BST)

You are summoned. Join the party, and enjoy the AP regen! I am waiting for my bookbag back, then you can borrow it. -- Sertularian 22:51, 8 October 2006 (BST)
You should have the bookbag now. Needless to say, please be sure to put everything back and be careful who you give it back to. Happy reading, and thanks for the stuff! :) -- Sertularian 14:25, 9 October 2006 (BST)
Hi, you may have noticed that the party has moved on. I took the liberty of asking Stevie-O to summon you to the new one. Hope you don't mind! -- Sertularian 03:03, 10 October 2006 (BST)
Thanks for the message / update! You do know that the reading glasses help a lot with the AP cost, too, right? If you have any difficulty getting back to the party (like, insufficient XP to enter the desert), please let me know and I'll beam you back. Oh, and, whatever you do, don't read Battlefield Earth.  :) Cheers! -- Sertularian 16:10, 11 October 2006 (BST)
Hi, please just return them to me when you're done, thanks. They need to be checked in before they can be checked out to someone else.  :) Thanks! -- Sertularian 21:13, 11 October 2006 (BST)
OK, just leave a note on my talk page or palantir me when you're ready, and I'll summon you back to the party next time I'm on. -- Sertularian 23:09, 11 October 2006 (BST)
Bag received back safely, and thanks for returning the summon stone. Good luck in your adventures! -- Sertularian 23:19, 12 October 2006 (BST)

  • The latest version of my auto-worship script is at
  • It has been determined that you do not need to be holding the Guide when you worship (you don't even need to have a copy of it; its only purpose is to identify the locations).
  • It also works for the Standing Stones.

Ah, I see. I wonder if perhaps you have misunderstood the way the knitting circle works. The purpose of it is to spread the AP cost of making the garments between everyone, so that all the participants use roughly the same amount of AP and in return get a set of two gloves and a jumper. You seem to be asking for a set of woollies just in return for donating fleeces, with no AP spend on your part.
I added a section for donations in case we had lots of newbies sign up for the circle who had absolutely nothing. As it turns out, between us the four members have more than enough resources to make the four sets that we need. If you read the section on donating carefully, you'll see that it says, " donate any of the required items without getting their own set of winter woollies..." (emphasis added). Which is why I had stated that we didn't need your contribution.
If you would like to participate then I can rework the production rota in order to fit you in? If you would prefer your fleeces back then I'm happy to return them. But I can't commit the AP of the other members to making you a set of woollies when they're not expecting to spend more than the current 260AP it will cost them. And certainly from my point of view my AP is more valuable to me than goods (given my wealth, I find that I can generally afford to buy whatever I'd like).
...unless by "somewhere in the future" you mean to borrow someone's set of winter gear when they're done with it themselves? If that is the case, I know that I'm not intending to go up North immediately as I have various bits to complete in the 'Kingdom and South of the Great Desert first. It looks like Qazxcv is itching to see some snow, so he might be a better person to borrow kit from as he's likely to be done with it sooner.
Does that help clarify at all? -Stelio 06:51, 2 November 2006 (GMT)

I'll trade you 300 arrows for an acle and a ball invitation. Hendsch 15:33, 2 November 2006 (GMT)

Thanks! Arrows delivered.

I see you've got 2 more acles. Care to trade? I've got some cucumbers and sheaves of wheat, going by your trading entry. Or I've got more exotic stuff... hendsch 19:30, 13 February 2007 (GMT)

About making arrows: I used to make a lot of them but, as I've found out, advanced players generally have too many of them, they just don't remember to sell them. You can find pointy sticks for 10 GP at brighthelm, so the air part may not be necessary. I'd be happy to sell you 300 arrows, but I'm on a mission far north, and wearing a wizard hat.--Solune 20:08, 2 November 2006 (GMT)

Spacer One

Yes I was the Bug Blatter Beast of Traal at the party...why do you ask? Spacer one 03:38, 6 November 2006 (GMT)

Thanks for that...anything else I can help ya with?Spacer one 18:10, 6 November 2006 (GMT)
No problem, lemme know if/when I can help ya outSpacer one 20:34, 6 November 2006 (GMT)

Heya Bubba! I noticed that you need sheaves of wheat. Being a bored earth player, I can help you with a semi-constant supply. I'm not sure what your alignment is, but I'm looking for flying fish, plums and cod. Also, do you know what drops mining permits? I've never gotten one before, and I'm rightfully peeved. Come to think of it, I could also use a fire player to make bits of molten glass for me -- 15:01, 29 March 2007 ( 0800 GMT)

Actually, that sounds fine. I just made a whole bunch of healing potions, and I doubt I'll see to use most of them. Space is actually one of my next destinations after I finish the Hermit and Fortune Teller quests. I need to get myself a phaser and power crystals too! :) Are mining lasers worth it? -- 18:04, 31 March 2007 ( 0800 GMT)

Hello Bubba! Hope all is fun in space. :) I have a question - the wiki states that I need to repair a broken phaser with power crystal - so does this mean I can but broken phasers and just get them working again once I have a power crystal in my possession? -- 14:35, 22 April 2007 (GMT)

'Gregory' --Bubba_the_Shy 17:04, 14 April 2007 (BST)
Haha, like the sound of it :-) My apologies to every person who is named Gregory, but the name would be very suitable :-) Conzy 09:12, 16 April 2007 (BST)

Hey there, care to petsit my goldfish for 2 weeks (15 Sep - 30 Sep)??

Hello Bubba, I'd love to take care of your little Goldy, but I am afraid that I'm in the middle of a moving thingy and I don't know if my new place will have internet before that :-S
If you can't find somebody else, try me again, maybe I have more certainty then :-)
Kind greetings and thanks for thinking of me, Conzy 08:25, 27 August 2007 (BST)

Sure - can sit him. Let me know when / where to pick him up. Phw 23:57, 27 August 2007 (BST)

I'm there now but I have to go to another trading post to pick up more animals in an hour... Before then would be great, otherwise I'll be there when I've finished that pickup. Phw 21:20, 14 September 2007 (BST)
No problems. I'll spend some time hunting mothers. I've just cracked an annoyance called 'Sigmund Freud' so it'll be good training for him. Have a good break. Phw 22:42, 14 September 2007 (BST)
I'm at the current party - I can give them back at the trading post 1 sqr north Phw 14:25, 25 September 2007 (BST)
Sorry I missed you - I was asleep (I'm at the opposite side of the clock. I'll be online most of the day so whenever you're ready. Phw 23:48, 25 September 2007 (BST)

Hey, I have a couple of answers for you -

  • I've taken more than 10 potions of accuracy, I believe (it was quite awhile ago). I may have done my math wrong on my page, or it may have been nerfed some time after I drank so many. My base to-hit is 148% and I know there were incidents prior to my taking the potions which had reduced it (dragon's blood, IIRC). I'll keep you posted if I learn more.
  • All invisible monsters appear hostile to me, even lowly Lost Spirits. Mists seem to be the only ones I come across very often that take more than one hit to kill. Usually I just align any spirits to friendly if I don't want to face them.

Hope all this helps, feel free to ask if there's more you'd like to know. -Jon 21:36, 29 August 2007 (BST)
